Appeared in 120 films, the first was "An Unseen Enemy" (1912) .... The Sister (older) , the last was "The Whales of August" (1987) .... Sarah Webber , a career that lasted 75 years.

Besides her beauty - and did anyone ever age more beautifully - she was also the first truly great actress in American cinema.
Though Gish and Chaplin were contemporaries and friends, they never actually appeared together.

I've done an extensive, but probably not exhaustive, search of the web for pictures of the delightful Lillian Gish.

I remember watching "The Wind" on TV as a youngster and being thoroughly entranced.

So here's the result, apologies for any duplicates or errors.
