Newcastle Brown is not brewed in Newcastle anymore and is not the loony juice it once was. An old friend of mine back in the 1980's went on a visit to the US HQ of 3M, for whom he worked. The group he was visiting took him to some bar and to his delight the bar had Newcastle Brown (or as we used to call it, Dog). Someone got the first round in, and someone got the second round in and my mate got the third round in. The table went very quiet when he sat down with his bottle of Dog, and then someone asked in awe 'Can you drink three bottles of Newcastle Brown'. I laughed when he told me because he had a reputation for not holding his beer, four pints of Fed and we usually had to carry him home. |
