The end user has spoken - the majority prefer choice , looking at desktop market share , over price. A smaller % will have both machines which makes sense The real truth its not always the OS that causes issues on windows The level of marketing spin around security on both OS is very typical of big business Apple lulls you into being complacent / over confident - the trojan saga a few years back showed how unprepared novice end users were for even a simple - yes or no malware pop-up Apple had to be brought kicking and screaming before they helped the IT idiots. Recent stories about malicious Apps gaining entry to online stores sounds very much like malicous ads repeated. From link below Plenty of Mac aficionados will tell you that Apple computers are inherently secure and don't require protection. We'd argue that they are wrong - or a bit overconfident, at least. Apple have a major upgrade to their OS, High Sierra.
We went and did our weekly grocery shopping this afternoon and since it was nearly a 5 gig download and my connection to the net ( mobile BB ) can be crappy at that time of day thought I'd do the download while away. I started it and it indicated it would take a bit over 2 hours, Came home nearly 3 hours later, download was done, started the installation which took about 50 minutes .... when done, everything worked and though the start time seems to have increased, the whole machine seems faster once up and running, so far no issues with High Sierra Unlike McDonaldsoft updates

I never bother with automatic updates from windows. It's useless. Always manually install the ones i need and choose security update only. Monthly roll ups contain other crap you don't need. Was asked to install .Net Framework 4.6.2 My Kaspersky stopped working completely so had to uninstall it back to 4.6.1 .

macOS 10.13 High Sierra problems: how to fix them
http://www.techradar.com/how-to/maco...ow-to-fix-them As for windows automatic updates - better than malware given they have to keep 15,000 3rd party compatible pieces of software in the loop (figure from Windows 7 upgrade) I'm surprised there arent more issues with updates Has September issues & Augusts fixes and a story about the stupidity of still using IE A story about Apple being better than Google & MS in the privacy stakes www.askwoody.com Last edited by buttsie; September 28th, 2017 at 09:02 PM.. We went into the Melbourne CBD this afternoon,
I made sure the last place we went was to my second favourite store and enquired about an iMac Pro they're new on the market and am seriously thinking of getting the base model, I haven't read a bad review about it yet, But That's the actual quote I got, 1 for the top of the range iMac, the other the base iMac Pro ..... Mrs went nuts at me

I don't know how it works in Australia, but in Europe, when a customer buys an Apple product, he pays the taxes in his country, that Apple would have to pay.
Apple get more than 200 billions offshore thanks tax avoidance. |
