Thanks -- I guess Pearl had the band really slow down the tempo to make it "strippy"... I would have liked a higher quality version of those drum breaks!

Merry Christmas all! I found another version of The Stripper on Spotify yesterday. It's by Direkjonsmusikken and well worth a listen!

Managed to get hold of a record player to check out the two vinyls I picked up that both had "The Stripper" on. I think I've found the best version of it to date! Long intro, filthy brass and it's 3 minutes total track time!

It's by Geoff Love and his Orchestra, will try and find a way to upload somewhere!

Hey guys --

Does anyone know if there are fairly good quality version anywhere of the music that's used in the famous "Mimed Striptease / Virtual Striptease" dance number from "The Benny Hill Show"? I'm pretty sure it's "St. Louis Blues", but it's an unusually slow and sensual version.

More generally, do you guys know of any good music that could ideally accompany a slow and sensual sort of striptease, whether it was written with that in mind or not? Especially if it features a lot of blaring brass (or as I like to call it "orgasmic trumpets")... i.e. Music in the same style as "Black Stockings" ( https://youtu.be/B_pKmEoIpCo )...?

Just found the clip in question, the track is a slowed down version of The Stripper.

Hill's Angels' "Mimed Striptease" uses a particularly raunchy version of St. Louis Blues. It's not an arrangement that you hear very often. There is a similar version played live on the "Great Britsh Striptease" video and maybe one or two that made it to CD but the artists' names escape me now. The closest I have heard is track 3 on Ray Anthony's "Dirty Trumpet" album*:

Benny Hill used "The Stripper" in several skits, so maybe you found different clip? For those who haven't seen Mimed Striptease, its here:

I'm not sure if Wild_Stallion is referring to this or to the version of "The Stripper" he mentioned earlier.

Right, I see where I made the mistake now. The "Mimed Striptease" part is before the clown bit. The video I found was labelled "Mimed Striptease", but started with the clown, which definitely does have The Stripper behind it.

What a world!
