Since Deezer added this table into an existing post I thought I'd repost it here, with how we see it as working in case people didn't see it in deezer's post and to correct a few things from it

BNA	Best Name Available	This is the best name we have found for the model. This may be used following on from a provisional solve.
LKC	Lesser Known Celebs	Has one or more posts in Lesser Known Celebs. If you have sufficient material of this model, please feel free to consult with the relevant section moderators over whether a thread can be created
LKM	Lesser Known Model	As above, has one or more posts in Lesser Known Models thread. If you have sufficient material, consult with moderators in the modern section over whether a thread can be created
NIT	Not In Thread	We've (moderators) checked the thread and haven't seen this material there. Please feel free to post the content to her thread.
NNM	No New Material	We (mods) have checked the thread and have seen the Original Requester's content in her thread. Posting the content in her thread may be seen as a duplicate post. Please feel free to check with moderators in that section - some sections welcome additional duplicate image links in case another goes down. Also, we haven't checked the quality of material. Whatever is posted may be better resolution. We encourage you guys to look for yourself and post content as relevant
NP	No Points	Replaces the "solved by OP" - no points are awarded for self solves.

Can someone read this tell me if my observation, below, is basically correct or incorrect, please?

I've been looking at some of the oldest remaining Softcore Models' section posts and this occured to me:

"Some of these threads only have one or two scans remaining and many of the posters no longer visit VEF. If/When the picture hosts lose these links or disappear, VEF will lose these models' identities.
Therefore, it will be infinitely more difficult for anyone to to identify or 'prove' the identity of these models for future ID requests when these threads disappear."

Is this conclusion essentially accurate, please?

As I understand it, a decision was made by VEF Owner in 2008 to turn off the v-Bulletin software feature that allowed "Attachments" to be uploaded to VEF servers. I'm sure that the decision was made to distance VEF from the broad range of legal challenges, and other expenses faced by sites that operate as file-hosts, and image-hosts.

As a result, the vast majority of VEF image content and file content is subject to loss; depending on the policies of the host-sites, and their continued viability.

Over the years we have seen a lot of good material disappear, and (since VEF operates with a "staff" of part-time volunteer Modertors) it generally falls to caring Members to search out, and re-post the lost material.

There have been a number of suggestions regarding the development of a Solved Model ID index. But in the absence of a VEF controlled site for secure storage of image-files and film-files, the content of such an Index would still be subject to loss.

We are indeed fortunate that several members have undertaken to create and maintain a variety of indices, here;

However, if you converse with any of them, you will find that it is truly a labor of love that takes a lot of time, vigilance, and constant repairing.

I should also acknowledge the efforts of certain members who diligently down-load the content of VEF threads they follow, and archive the files on their own hard-drives or cloud accounts. These "caretakers" often make themselves known when material disappears and re-up to approved host-sites to restore the loss. This, too, is a labor of love that must often be repeated as links go dead.

I do not believe there has been any attempt to organize. You could touch base with a Mod in the section(s) that have the content you wish to preserve, and see if they can put you in touch with like-minded members.

I'm currently trying to have all FC stuff ever posted here on two 5TB drives...it sure us a labour of love. As usual we're all volunteers, so any work done is greatly appreciated
