You are right, but the truth is a little more complex too. The German 88 was designed as a multipurpose gun so it was employed as an anti-tank weapon, and anti-aircraft gun, and as an artillery piece. It was common for it to be used against the allies in a wide variety of situations. Because it was so versatile and so dreaded it was an easy shorthand way for troops to convey the nature of a threat in the same way ALL German tanks were referred to as Tigers despite fewer than 2000 of them actually being built. For example if you need to tow artillery you would say "we need to get a truck." not "we need to get a 3 and 1/2 ton lorry."

Kind of like how any time there's a shooting of any kind, the American media says an "assualt rifle" was used, right?

Cops never get a chance to eat. Every time police buy hot dogs coffee etc, they get an urgent radio call or hear shots fired , and everything they've bought is tipped out of the car window.

Watched the new Star Trek film, a bit so-so, but it passed the time.

One thing that's always irked me in these type of films(Especially sci-fi) is that whenever they're having a fight, it's usually set on some walk-way with a drop of at least a mile. Why don't they have guard rails installed? Don't they have health and safety in the future?

I'm acrophobic. The early rooftop scene in Devil's Advocate almost made me hurl.

Acrophobia is fear of heights.
Arachnophobia is fear of spiders. No, I'm not real fond of those little bastards either!

Here's one I just noticed while watching "8 Heads in a Duffel Bag":

When people "hotwire" a car, it sparks and starts and they drive off, right? Not so fast... Don't most modern cars lock the steering wheel unless the key is in and turned? Just wondering.

A full-grown adult can be saved from hanging from a cliff or a ledge of a building by simply "giving their hand" to the hero and being pulled up. (Weight and gravity never seem to enter into the equation, nor the enormous strength the hero must have to possess in his one arm.)
