Question

I have been drinking Johnnie Walker Red blended scotch for a while. It is fairly inexpensive and ok. But some other members on other threads say that this is crap and I should be drinking single malt whiskeys. These are very expensvie in America. Remember, since we have to import it the price is high to cover the import duty costs. One bottle of my blended whiskey may cost me only 20 dollars, but a bottle of single malt whiskey can be as high as 150 dollars for just one bottle.

What is the advantage of getting a single malt whiskey? Does it taste better? Is it smoother going down? Come on you liquor experts, please give me an answer.

Less of a hangover if you've gone overboard on it

No Greenman hasn't just thanked a post

I mean I`m beer-less
I think the rest of the good member here should drink more and post about it just to keep the thread at the top and remind you of your responsibilities to the brewing companies

Thumbs down

Thanks E, but there is no way in hell that I am going to spend 150 dollars for that single malt stuff, and most women don't care what a man drinks. I could be drinking Bud Light and they don't care. If a woman is so shallow that she will only go out with guys who order expensive drinks, then she is not worth it. Not only that, but that kind of mindset shows that she is nothing but trouble, the kind of trouble that could land you in jail. American women love to falsely accuse men of just about anything. The buggers!

JW Red is OK, it can be drunk straight, but it's best with mixers. It's a little more expensive, not as much as some single malts, but I highly recommend Johnnie Walker Black. Like Red, a blended whiskey, but none of the whiskies blended are less than 12 years old.

You got me wrong, I meant you offer or suggest it, the rest is up to her

Pm`s asking that if now I`m not spending money on booze. Could I support you all with it instead. As you want to quit work and spend the rest of your days in quiet contemplation.
On this hallowed site , with a box of tissues beside you.
The answer is , no

Actually to be truthful I don't drink whiskey for taste. I drink it for medical purposes. As you may already know my building has installed a new steam boiler and it makes a sound that I can hear in my bedroom which keeps me from falling asleep, so just 30 minutes before I sleep I drink 3 ounces of cold Johnnie Walker Red and in less than 30 minutes I can feel this drowsiness take over and I walk into my bedroom and get into bed. I hear that sound but the alcohol helps me to drift into sleep. The sound always seems to diminish in the early morning. The taste is quite offensvie. For taste alone I drink Jacobs Creek southeastern Australian Shirazz wine or a good imported German beer.
