I was at the Hawthorns today (the home end) and we all were suprised at the Arsenal time that turned up. Seem to have no passion for the game. Sanchez was petulant, diving and complaining at everything.
Seeing the replays of Dawson's goals, it did seem that he was able to burst through the defence and score easily. Not like Arsenal....

Maybe not like Arsenal...

...but perhaps like so many other teams where players have deliberately played 'less well' than usual?

I'm still hoping Wenger gets to retire at the end of this season, like Ferguson did when he decided to leave Man U.

But even when Wenger departs, what next? Does Arsenal's current owner want to see the team compete at an elite level? Or will the board look for a manager who can get a top 4 finish and a decent run in the Champions League?

Dark times at the moment for Le Arse...
You might be lucky and Monsieur Wenger could sign a new 20 year contract.
or
Roy Hodgy Hodgson might be the new manager and it'll be Arsene Who?

Exciting times ahead.

Neither option appeals to me thanks...
But I will agree that Arsenal are definitely living in "interesting times", to paraphrase the old "Chinese" curse...

Phew! I am glad I couldn't see the Man City v Liverpool game earlier because the way the Radio 5 Live people described it, it must have been pretty heart-stopping(I shall Match of the Day 2 in a minute) and I am not sure my heart would have taken such excitement. Mind you it does mean that we add to our large tally of goals and have done well against the main teams in the top half. Now if only we could do the same with the bottom half of teams-next up Everton in the Merseyside Derby. Congratulations to the Liverpool Ladies who beat the Everton Ladies 2-1 today.

Another year for Wenger, then Simeone.

It was indeed heart stopping. I won't spoil it for you but it could have gone either way at any minute. Very entertaining game.

Anybody else starting to think Guardiola isn't quite as marvellous as he's made out to be? Ok he won lots with Barca and Bavaria Munich, but couldn't any half decent manager? If he did it with say, Southampton, then that would be something. Is the Prem and City showing him up as average....?
The debacle with Monaco also doesn't look good. It's not as if he hasn't the money.....

City have fell way short trophy wise since the money boys took over, so I don't believe its all down to Guardiola, money does not always provide success.

Guardiola lucked out at both Barcelona and Bayern in terms of strength of not only the first 11 but the squad. They were also pretty much most of the way there to how he likes his sides to play. Bayern a little further away but not as far as City are. It will take at least 2 seasons for City to be anywhere near how he would like them to be. The problem is that Guardiola only tends to manage for 3 seasons before he is in need of a break or a move.

Some Bayern fans also do not see his reign as a success. Winning the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal are standard fare and expected. Not winning the CL whilst at Bayern is why he is often seen by some as a failure. That was what they brought him to the club to do. Any half decent manager stands a good chance of a cup and league double with Bayern. Its in Europe where Bayern feel they have not had the success they should have had. 3 finals and only one win in the last decade is not good enough. They brought Pep into the club to change that but he failed. Losing 3 times to Spanish sides meant some fans questioned his loyalty to the German side.
