When there has been no response yes, edit post 1. If there had been a response or a discussion then feel free to add further content.
Need to find a balance between thread bumping and new requests. We will often merge posts by the same poster into one if they are having a discussion with themselves or feel it is appropriate.

So other folk aren't interested in the discovery that a model's been found within a different publication?
I know I'd be interested if such were found by someone else for their queries, at least for queries of interest to me. Just for example: appearances by TLI models. So if those were simply edited into those posters' existing posts then I'd very likely never see/notice it. Is that the desired outcome? Hmm... maybe "thanks" posts could be edited into previous posts? |

As you'll have seen from roto's link, what you have above is almost exactly everything required: a link to the box post & a link to the new material. About the only thing extra is to make the header say something like "[mystery - additional]". Of course, now that your post's been moved out of its own query thread & into this discussion thread, you'll presumably now be able to (copy & paste) re-create it.

For the title of the thread you start in the main request section, if you think you have solved it, then use [Mystery Unfolded] followed by the original request title from the Mystery Box post.
Otherwise, we have adopted using [MB Followup] (also followed by the original request title) for the titles. Other request titles might be added when they are found and merged in to the Followup thread. Be sure to link in the Mystery Box post for us. After we review it, the title will be changed appropriately. The thread will be moved to the Mystery Corner eventually. If you are interested in getting updates on the search for the ID of a Mystery Box girl, subscribe to her MB Followup thread. If she doesn't have a Followup thread, and you want one, start one, or ask an MIR section mod. |

Pretty good E D.
You included a link to the MB post for us, which is most needed And you added new info/content. I added the Mystery Box post title to your Followup thread title. [MB Followup] More info, please This new thread will be moved to the Mystery Corner after allowing the current solvers a chance to see it in the main request section. Your posting in the followup thread should have subscribed you to the thread, unless you chose no subscription. People interested in her should subscribe to the Followup thread. The Mystery Box threads are closed, so if you need to refresh the images in your MB post there, or edit something, send them to an MIR mod, or post them in the MB Followup thread. Cheers! |

Awhile back I happened by accident to notice that beutelwolf had edited in some further scans to one of his cover models project models. That's the sort of thing we can so easily miss when it comes to edits rather than fresh posts. I have in the past considered whether I should simply edit some of the bits I've added to the TLI models project. Again, if I were to do that then other folks (non-mods, anyhow) would likely miss those additions. Is that desirable? Mods. in MIR have for awhile now adopted a fairly relaxed approach to the forum--the treatment of thanks posts being one such example. I have no wish to see or encourage bump posts. My question is: is there no difference between those & the addition of mag. info. such as that I made yesterday? The mod. in question noted that query was a single-contributor one. But all queries are such unless or until other members have something useful they can add--i.e. regardless of how many may or may not be "interested" viewers. |

There is no means for members to be alerted to an edited post. In the example of the Shared Covers thread it makes sense to keep them all together so there I'd say editing the post with additional covers is more desirable. In our other sections an additional post would be better so all the participating members see the addition. Sometimes a model may recognized in a particular setting when she may not have been otherwise. And, as effCup says, any members subscribed to the thread would be alerted to the addition.
If the Mods feel a member is just intentionally bumping his thread by posting several single images over time this can be dealt with on a case by case basis. |
