A GP2 car really stretching its legs...........up a hill climb !
Warning ! - If using headphones (as you should for this),you'd be advised to turn the sound down. It's loud even at a relatively low volume.

Default Mount Panorama XY-GTHO Falcon in-car classic car race

Bit like shooting fish in a barrel this one, apart from a pesky Charger with similar acceleration..

(Same video is also available with that wonderful soundtrack replaced with music
- and GT-HO appearently means "Grand Touring Handling Option" not "Get The Hell Out!" which, ironically is the Australian stance on immigration..)

Exclamation Those Crazy Irish Tarmac Boys..

I'm not sure if this should be in the comedy thread -

A Front Wheel Drive Nova punching (literally) very well above it's weight against a Four Wheel Drive Subaru.

And a Co-Driver with an ability to swear, have a mental breakdown, and shout pacenotes all at the same time..

(The "fun" begins at 1.29)

Default Sebastien's ride into the clouds..

Sébastien Loeb, 2013 Pikes Peak International Hillclimb record run in the incredible Peugeot 208 T16.

Time of 8m 13.878sec, comfortably beating the previous record in the “unlimited class” of 9m 46.164sec.
(this is probably helped by the fact that the course is now completely tarmac - mind you, he is a nine-time World Rally Champion, so he may have not struggled on it after all..)

On board camera's galore in this one - including the bizarre "Groin Cam" at 2.25!

Default Climb Dance

More Pike's Peak- 1988 this time, Ari Vatanen and Peugeot in Jean-Claude Mourey's classic 'Climb Dance'

It's not purely on-board, but the in-car stuff is top-notch. I particularly love the moment when doing God-only-knows-what-speed, on gravel, with a sheer drop somewhere off to the side, Ari casually takes one hand off the wheel to shield his eyes from the sun....

I can still remember the time they showed that clip of Ari going through the cattle grid sideways after clipping the wall. There was a huge gasp from the audience because it was a stunning piece of driving.

Another favourite clip, if only for the soundtrack- One of the iconic Japanese performance cars, the 1971 Nissan Skyline GTSR KPGC10, the legendary 'Hakosuka'.

An alternative version with more on-board...How does a 2-litre Datsun sound that good...?
