johnnie walker on sounds of the 70s yesterday played heartsong by gordon giltrap which was the theme for bbcs holiday programme .
he later played eye level by the simon park orchestra which as we all know was the theme from the cop show van den plas

Not so much a favourite but the very beginning of the original "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" theme (the Darren McGavin series) stuck in my mind so much that, every time I see a show with the Universal globe & fanfare, I always expect it to be followed by whistling.

Opening theme from The Onedin Line - composed by Aram Khachaturian. The music is properly called Adagio from Spartacus. Spartacus in this context is a ballet he composed for the Bolshoi Ballet in Leningrad.
