The maniac who stabbed 14 people on a bus at Luebeck, Germany (earlier today) and was apparently carrying some kind of improvised firebomb is said to be Iranian, although I'm not sure if this is common knowledge yet.

People going into debt and giving up happens all the time.

Saw a woman whose husband left her, with a house being foreclosed on and three minor kids, one who was crippled. She cried a lot. Heard she moved in with members of her family.

Life can be tough in any country.

Back in the 80's, I recall a couple committed suicide in their car - exhaust fumes - and their suicide note blamed Regan for their business failing.

A little bit of bad luck, some poor planning, bang - you're fucked.

I am sure it happens everywhere.

Is it really a surprise to anyone?

It was not like that 50 years ago. When I speak with my oldest cousins, job security was good. State was good. Social protection was good.

How long people will accept this kind of society, before to go on rebellion?
I'm very impressed how resilient are the lowest classes of our "free-market" societies.

Hey ho, yet another week of blistering sunshine and warm nights to come, perhaps there might be a light at the end of this extremely hot tunnel NEXT weekend when temperatures are expected to drop down a bit. I hope so, it's not quite reached the 'cook an egg on the pavement ' hot but it's been damn near close. Besides which pavement fried egg doesn't sound very appetising

Now that all seems sensible to me, go ahead with negotiations but prepare for the eventuality they break down, not to the gormless muppets in Labour though

Which means Labour's big idea is that we have to agree to everything the EU wants so we get a deal.

In ANY negotiation sides must have red lines that they have to say so far and no further, if you don't you will be walked all over by the other side. If you vote Labour I'd be worried about the type of idiot they would promote to negotiate any deals
