No, but when I was a wee lad I used to burn ants to a crisp with a punk as they came out of their nests in the concrete sidewalks. Children can be so evil. I could never do that now. In fact I go out of my way to try to not step on any insects that crawl on the sidewalks in front of me.

Do you mean you made Sid Viscious breath on them?

A "punk" as it was called in the 1960's is a small stick made of sandalwood. If you light the end of it it will burn like a cigarette. It gets red hot and it lasts for about an hour. Here is a photo. In Chicago it was sold in novelty shops.
