Rapidgator - Worth it?

I'm trying to decide if paying for one of these "premium" levels for faster download and no wait time is worth it?

How much faster than non-paying options are they?

And are wait times eliminated? I'd be happier just with that alone.

Premium accounts are nice if you download often, or if you download large files. You can try it for 30 days, and if you like it you can renew.The only one who can decide if it is worth it is you.

Judging by whats been said about it over the past several years it can be extremely patchy

Its almost gone out of business at least twice that i'm aware of so anything more than a month is foolish especially given how other hosts that have disappeared have done so more or less within a month or less.

Last year was mentioned as being a major target for takedown

As to what speeds - given filehosts are extremely regional - unless your getting that from someone in your own country who is using the same ISP the info really isnt relevant.

A recent comment on another forum a week ago showed it was great in the morning but as bad as being a free user later in the day

As to wether its worth it the amount is neither here nor there given you recoup it in 1 download

How much of a months membership is at premium speed is anyones guess in this age of uploading to earn / link dumping and mass downloading via automatic downloaders.

I'd say if your get premium access at decent speeds 50% of the time you'll be doing well
given how fast RG has grown in recent times

Debrid sites that offer you premium access to many filehosts at premium speeds are worth looking into - a way of spreading the risk just incase its a dud site in your region

Due disappearance of the dodgy oron and filesonic I have never paid for one of these premium memberships.
I read that they pay uploaders via Webmoney which looks like one of these very dodgy Russian sites often used for money laundering. Has anyone received money from rapidgator or had any problems with them?
Personally, I would not feel very secure about giving by Debit/Credit Card details to the likes of Rapidgator or Webmoney.

The problem is there is too many of these file sites. And i'm not forking out cash for them all.

I've used Rapidgator for the majority of the past 12 months. No real issues. Good download speeds in the main. May be slower at certain times, but nothing worth complaining about. Providing you have a decent connection speed, I'd say it's good value.

I have a premium Rapidgator account and have just renewed it, I only download and download speeds do vary but in the main are pretty good by UK standards.
I often have 3 or 4 files downloading at the same time and have downloaded lots of old shows as well as a few newer items.
It's worth it for me right now but I'll decide each time before I renew.

As examples, I've just downloaded a 105 Mb. file in 60 seconds. A file of 1 Gb. will generally take 20-25 min's. If d/loading a few simultaneously, one will generally be @ high speed, but as soon as that's done, it'll usually apportion that seem speed to the next file and so on. So whilst your download window may initially say 2 hours, it often takes substantially less time than that.

Having been burnt by megaupload, oron and filesonic, one is loathe to trust these file hosters for long, so short subscriptions although more expensive in the long run, can be a a safer option.

Rapidgator is one of the few sites I subscribed to now, and have just renewed a 3 month membership. Download speeds have been patchy, sometimes so slow I cancelled it, only to try a few minutes later with a much faster speed. But in general, fairly good.

I sometimes wonder with the increasing popularity of some sites, and also depending what country they're situated in, whether this has an effect on download speed, due to increased demand etc. However, ones' own internet connection speed can also be variable at times.

For everyone's information, rapidgator is currently proving impossible to use for free downloads, which are thwarted at the "Captcha" stage. Either there is no text image to type in, or it is undecipherable. The audio option is also undecipherable. Once you fail at Captcha, you get the message "wait 120 minutes and try again," but the same problem recurs. I will henceforth avoid this filehost altogether.
