The Changeling (1980)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080516/

George C. Scott and Trish Van Devere head a great cast, Scott plays a college lecturer and composer trying to rebuild his life after his wife and daughter were killed in a traffic accident. he hires a remote house to work in peace but soon finds that he is not alone in the house
A fantastic and totally creepy film that I have not seen in years, I saw it at the cinema when it first came out and it has not lost any impact over the years

Default Batman v Superman: Dawn of more tedious bollocks

Batman v Superman, starring that devastatingly handsome charisma-vacuum who plays Superman, and my worrying, seemingly inexplicable man-crush Ben Affleck. Plus that lad playing Lex Luthor, who seems to be acting as if he's in an advert meant to warn youths against the dangers of cocaine - and even that might be giving too much credit, because I really can't imagine that the director actually gave him any direction.

I've seen it twice already, and I'm not even a comic book guy, but I have some work that I need to get done so have a powerful need to procrastinate, and that means seeing what's floating at the top of my hard-drive and is awful

Chupacabra: Dark Seas aka Chupacabra Terror (2005)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435617/

The excellent John Rhys-Davies is the captain of a cruise ship that is being used to ship a live Chupacabra out from an island, when a couple of greedy workers open the crate trying to steal the contents the beast gets loose on board the ship and before long it is eating into the crew and passengers.

Default Dunkirk

Dunkirk has a 91% Rating on Rotten Tomatoes

" - serves up emotionally satisfying spectacle, delivered by a writer-director in full command of his craft and brought to life by a gifted ensemble cast that honors the fact-based story "

Just watched the 1st Screening of Dunkirk , the New war Film -
and its actually really !! good , as the ' Spitfire ' fighter portrayed in the film looked exactly like a Spitfire Mk 1 ( used in 1940 ) - and highly accurate
for example it had the single oil radiator under the right wing !

I thought the main actors were good and also the few Stars didn't detract from the story - the action scenes were very realistic and a lot of time had clearly been taken , and the air scenes were worthy of the
1969 Battle of Britain Film -
plus it was well made and acted -
also the Film score was really good , but in the background as it should be..
Honestly, had a tear. If you can IMAX this do so -
in short - well worth seeing ! and probably the best War Film of 2017

For once , believe the positive reviews - so little dialogue , so Sergio Leone
and so better for it .......... I will say no more

I still have a tear in my eyes , 4 hours after the Film -
( I am not the emotional type )
you will see why for yourself when you watch it
a War Film like they used to make them , is the best explanation
( and no gore - war- porn - and all the better for it )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1VJ39nVIBk

and the score ! my god , its good .......

Over the last two days I have seen one of the best movies of the year and one of the worst. Dunkirk is one of the best movies that I have seen this year and I have recommended it to all of my family and friends. I give it a 9 out of 10 stars.

At the opposite end of the scale is Valerian.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2239822/
I had read some of the Valerian and Laureline comics when I was much younger but this movie does not live up to the comics.

The movie is almost entirely CGI except for a few actors and it might have been better off with CGI for them. Dane DeHaan is a decent actor but he always looks like he just came back from a bank holiday weekend (or weeklong) bender. This movie is no exception. Certainly not the image from the comics.

Cara Delevigne is attractive but nowhere near as beautiful as the character should be. Personally I think Amber Heard would have been a better choice. Also Cara has no acting ability to speak of. The puppets from Thunderbirds have a greater expressive range.

The plot is almost as non-existant as Battleships was which brings me to the worst part of the movie.

Rihanna.

She serves no purpose in the movie other than to have her face (and body) in the trailers. They could have cut 15 minutes form the movie and probably $20 million from the budget by not having her in the movie. I give this movie zero stars. I would recommend waiting for this movie to come out on cable, satellite, or webcast then going down to the pub instead.

Of the three Netflix movies I looked at yesterday only one is worth talking about.
"Office Christmas Party" starring Jason Bateman, Jennifer Anniston, others. Simple plot, Jennifer Anniston is the CEO of a struggling tech company that has hit hard times and is closing it's many branches. Anniston says to her employees that she will have to cut their salaries by 40%, cancel the annual office Christmas party and lay off some workers. One of her workers says to Anniston that she is working on a new innovation that will change the internet forever and bring the company back to its former glory, but Anniston is a real bitch and says that the innovation which is not ready yet must be ready in the next week or the office may be closed. Behind her back all the employees fearing the worst decide to have the party anyway. The party is big, very funny with naked women running all over the office and very hectic. There is a tremendous amount of great music that is played during the party. Employees fearing the company may close decide to wreck the office. The movie is extremely funny, and it has a good ending.
