Pretty much every Commonwealth country has a large cricket scene - Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies especially. Cricket is a major sport around the world, I'd say played competitevly by more nations and more people than baseball or basketball, it's just you don't hear about it in the US.

The Ashes are the acme of cricket for England and Australia and probably of "test" cricket as a whole.

India is, as others have said, probably the centre of cricket these days - but with a greater emphasis on the short form "Twenty/20" version of the game (which is not by-the-by my particular interest).

But Indian cricketers are rock stars and film stars combined in their own country...and they are very good at it.
