Eric Bristow, that's the one! The "crafty cockney" . . . I used to give my Brit friends so much crap over that . . . Its kinda like giving Canadians grief over curling, except the difference is that even Canadians don't really watch curling except at the Olympics

Snooker I could understand better, we don't play it exactly -- the American game is eight ball, which is a little different.

Darts . . . you see it occasionally at a bar, but never on television.

Snooker is big in Europe but I prefer 8 ball myself. I guess because it's not as snobbish as snooker. 8 ball, beer and a room filled with cigarette smoke. That's the way a prole like myself likes it.

Same for everyone who hates something that cant be part of. Soon as they get to be involved in it. They are all for it!

This is about as fair as a description of the way Royal family is funded as any. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financ...h_royal_family

There is a small but vocal anti monarchy movement. Usually well balanced by having a bag of chips on each shoulder. Interestingly, having been involved in the planning of several Royal visits (note taker, umbrella carrier etc) I have always been amazed that the most strident and vocal anti Royals are usually the ones demanding to be first in the queue to meet them.

I already was in rooms where there were snookers, French and 8 balls tables.
You can play snooker without beeing snobbish. That's a very difficult kind of billard. Probably the most difficult with the 3 cushion and the artistic billards.

That's less accessible to quickly have fun in snooker than in 8 balls. (I'm not telling that reaching a high level in 8 balls is easy. Not at all.)
When I watch at snooker champions, they reach, in my point of view, the label of artists.

I'll say that polo or horse riding seem more snobbish.

Just a joke guys just a joke. I think??
I was terribly surprised when I watched for the first time World championship of Darts with their "belly full of beers" players.
But the show is there. Crowd singing, drinking tons of beers, funny ambiance and darts superstars coming on the podium sometimes surrounded by sexy girls.
They look more like coal minors or fishermen than accountants.

And there are a lot of psychological pressure on the champions to finish the game.
Honestly that's fun and today there are a lot players coming from all around Europe. (Serbian, Dutch, Spanish, Austrian)... and now even a Brasilian player. Soon we will see Californian players too.
And... last point, they substract points very quickly.

All pool halls here have a few snooker tables but most people prefer 8 ball because it's less complicated and more fun. I prefer to play chess instead of snooker, especially against my father because I'm finally getting my revenge for all the times he beat me when I was a kid. But sure, it takes some skill to play snooker. Lots of trigonometry involved there.

Polo and horse riding aren't snobbish at all. Just gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with being gay.

Back in the 80's they even made a quiz show about it called Bulleye! hosted by Jim Bowen.
This is still repeated occasionally on the channel Challenge.

Given that it's over 30 years old it's still entertaining, even if the star prizes are tremendously outdated!
