I accept your moral POV but legally and practically I see it as unenforceable (apart from obvious indecencies like in toilets)

If large powerful film and music companies can't stop their stuff being posted on the web what chance the ordinary person?

The police and courts are snowed under with 'child porn' as it is so what's the chances of them policing every 'perv' with a phone/camera looking at woman's asses/tits in the street or on the beach?

The police - who now have portable cameras on them at all times filming everyone and everything. And I'm sure they never look at women's asses.

They used to complain about USSR, you know. Big Brother and so. But it was never as bad as with NSA and GCHQ today

In Leningrad in around 1980, we could listen to any telephone in the city, but only 300 connections at the same time. That was the Big Brother the West so hated

Today, the West is a gazillion times worse. But I don't know where they find the guys to analize all those phone/internet transactions

In the UK, it's generally your legal right to photograph or film anyone in a public place, including children and the police. TV and newspapers generally block certain stuff out to avoid unwanted issues rather than having to do so. The right to photograph and film pretty much everything also applies to the police, councils, etc, who spy on our activities 24/7.

For what it's worth, I think its a good thing in a democracy to allow people to record whatever they want (within reason) in public places and many serious incidents and events have been recorded, that often provides justice for those involved or secure a very important historical record.

On the other hand, if you do something like posting material with misleading or derogatory remarks, you are probably leaving yourself open to legal action.

Default New activist film project raises new questions on Mike Brown incident

Quote:
AUSTIN, TEXAS—Mike Brown did not u to die. That sentence is an objective truth that you already know before, during, and after the buzzy and frustrating documentary Stranger Fruit, which had its world premiere Saturday at South by Southwest. The film is frustrating because of the glaring lack of justice for the Brown family, but also because this movie probably should not be classified as a documentary. For all of its access and authenticity, for as close as it flies to the outer reaches of human experience and pain, the finished product is an activist project, not a journalistic statement. Director Jason Pollock's "big reveal" of additional security footage has already turned Mike Brown's name into a national trending topic again. Still, Pollock's film is more of a new question than a definitive answer or missing piece of the puzzle.

I saw an ITV program about sexual harassment which said that filming/taking pics of women in the public could be regarded sexual harassment if it causes alarm or distress to the 'victim' However, if this is done without them knowing then it obviously can't.

On amazon now you can buy HD cameras built in to glasses and caps.

That's true, actually. They hated him in Germany, and when he made that 20. July movie as Graf Stauffenberg, top politicians wanted to stop him entering the country

I can't remember if he did get in, but he created plenty of bad atmosphere
