Paul Newman
Turner Classic Movies is having a Paul Newman marathon today. I just finished watching The Prize from 1963. I had never seen it before and it was pretty good. A little dated with it's Cold War setting but a darn good thriller. Edward G. Robinson is also in it. I'm hoping that the lovely and charming Ms. Riff will allow me to couch surf all day as the lineup only gets better. Next up is Somebody Up There Likes Me, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Hud, Harper, The Sting and finally Cool Hand Luke. I say all very good to great movies. I may need to run out and purchase more beer and chips if I intend to ride this one out.

The Wolfman (2010)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780653/ Benicio Del Toro as Lawrence Talbot in the updated Universal remake. Pretty good so far panned unduly by many. |

Jusy finished watching "The Alamo"2004,it came in for a lot of criticism, unfairly in My view. The first film version to show the death of Davy Crockett and the Texans bloody retribution at San Jacinto. It also made the point that there were Mexicans inside the Alamo as well as outside.

Currently watching Supergirl while listening to the DVD commentary , it's a film i've had on the shelf for months so i thought i better crack it open and play the damn thing. The story is as we all know bloody awful , the film is seemingly played for laughs and the villain in it makes zero sense . Also there's precious little actual action and it's full of so many plot holes and piss poor acting it almost makes Superman 4 look good .
In fact the only saving grace is the utterly graceful and gorgeous Miss Slater Why the hell didn't they put a bit of effort into the story and make it about her landing on earth in search of her missing cousin , but getting lost in the discovery of her powers and the craziness that is earths population, instead of farting around with witches and invisible monsters What a waste of a perfectly beautiful actress and a delicious costume

Quote:
I was watching a recording of The Uninvited (2008) that I got from the Horror Channel, only to find that 3/4 the way through it turned into an episode of Alien Nation. Now having watched Ocean's Eleven yesterday and loved it, I've turned to Ocean's Twelve on the "limited edition" DVD. Great cast and Andy Garcia is suitably menacing. |

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot on channel 5 right now.
I'd forgotten what a good film this is. One of the few films I would have liked to have seen a sequel made (although a little difficult with Lightfoot being dead at the end).

Yeah and what a villain , or bully more like
Only ever seen that film once all the way through , because as we know it don`t end well That`s why from now on i stop watching it when they're at the church ( Or school , since it's been an age) and just convince myself they both then head off together for more adventures , both of them happy , wealthy and more importantly healthy Fact this is what Thunderbolt and Lightfoot look like now
