Don't make my mistake. I once thought that...well not the Ford and not the Mustang, but the manual. A day will come when your back won't take getting in and out of it and your hips'll give you gyp, you won't be quick enough to change gear without rolling back or grinding; and worst of all, the manual won't have held it's resale value.
Buy a nice sedate Focus auto. You'll regret it now but in years to come you'll think, 'by 'eck that Goose knew what he where on about!'

Why are cars still so goddamn noisy?


They can put entire computers in phones but right now i am listening to a car (double parked with engine on) and it makes more noise then an old vacuum cleaner makes.










Edit: also, double parking (with the engine on) has become a real plague where i live.

I beg to differ. I believe that Estreeter has just discovered for himself why Ford F-150 pick-up trucks are so prevalent on American roads. The fuels costs are challenging, but she is not going to let you have the Mustang. At least, you maintain your masculinity and will not be driving around in a Ford Focus while she keeps your nuts in her handbag.

I tend to agree, although I’m not sure that there’s a conspiracy of silence so much as men just can’t be bothered dealing with the torrent of feminine condemnation if he were to make an issue of it. I once told my wife about a friend of mine who had been physically assaulted by his girlfriend in my presence, and my wife's first response was to say "He probably wasn't addressing her needs"

I would have thought we could all agree that any violence is unacceptable – I’ve certainly never been violent towards a woman, but have had several behave so towards me, which apparently is fine if you’re in a relationship with them and it’s perpetrated by her, and they don't even have to apologise (and they reallllllly don’t like it when you point out these double standards). It’s tedious, but what can you do.
