Soooo... If this was all "Fake News", why on earth would Cohen need to "flip"? The President's mouth is a shovel, and that hole is getting deeper imho. |

However, I would then re-consider to check all the other posts in political threads where insulting is considerably tolerated. I think of numerous verbal offences towards Mr. Putin, Kim Jong-Un, Theresa May, Tony Blair, Angela Merkel, Emmanuel Macron and so on...and so on. What -in your holy opinion- makes Trump superior to all the other statesmen/stateswomen or politicians respectively? Does the POTUS have a "god-given" special status? And why can a "Fun-Thread" like "Laughing at the Donald" and its underbelly (while funny) pictorials apparently be off your rigid ruling? Ah, I forget...there is also a "Laughing at Kim-Jong-Un"-thread Certainly both of them are "highly superior" and excellent, care-taking Presidents Donīt insult them, Chaps .

Think I'll just throw my 1 cent in here,
With respect too all members, it's true there are insults hurled at many politicians here, that's the way of the real world. We're lucky here at VEF that we allow political thread, many forums don't because they can be a headache for mods and members, emotion gets in the way. Over the years we have managed to control them and it might surprise a few there haven't been that many warnings issues, mostly friendly PM's and only a very few that resulted in a permanent ban from the entire forum. We like to keep it that way, where members can be themselves and act like it's the real world and have discussion threads other forums won't allow. We've had them for years and always popular so we must be doing something right That all said, when it comes to insults, an insult can and will be taken differently by mods and members. When it comes to politicians, personally I don't care what they are called, but wearing my mod cap, I will draw a line, words like idiot, moron etc aren't much to be concerned about, when the F or C word start being used with other adjective is when posts will become a problem, posts have been removed for it, posts have been edited for it, sometimes we miss them. Jenny said it best and not stoop to Trumps level, but that counts for all politicians, not just Trump. I guess I'm just saying be grown up, accept that when it comes to politics emotions will run high at times.

It is not just the comics, because political opponents have every incentive to call his patriotism, morality, and intelligence into question. It has been this way since the beginning of the republic. In the last years of his presidency even George Washington was subjected to attacks in the press. I am not a trained psychiatrist, but would have to wonder if a person who sought the presidency with the expectation that he would not be pilloried, slandered, and investigated for his past business practices during his entire term is anything but a delusional narcissist. Many intelligent and successful people have bowed out of consideration for lesser offices rather than subject their families to the level of abuse routinely handed out to those in the political realm. |

As to what he appreciated, you're assuming he cares. I suggest you examine your paradigm. I sincerely hope there is a God. In the meantime, Hosea 8-7 is a propos, as best quoted by Air Marshall Harris" : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reap_t...rlwind_(phrase) I am now done with this thread for at least a week, or at least until I start enjoying my evening glass of quality red. |

Thankfully Trump realized how dangerous a Hillary Clinton presidency would be and he stuck it out.

What exactly did you expect? I and several others called this one very early into this thread and it has turned out to be exactly what we said it would be. Not that I am complaining. I say let them be. I enjoy reading it all and it's far better than the alternative would have been.

Mr Trump's vanity is one of his defining characteristics. Going right back to the nonsense about how big the turnout was for his inauguration ceremony, I think the evidence is very clear that Mr Trump cares how he is seen by others rather more than is healthy, even for a politician.
Mr Trump is also remarkably thin skinned himself for a man who is so fond of aggressively insulting and mocking others. This is part of why he persistently makes ill considered decisions; he reacts emotionally and impulsively. We saw numerous examples of this when he was campaigning, for example in the way he insulted the family of a Muslim army officer who was killed fighting for the USA; he couldn't abide being justly pulled up for his contemptuous ignorance of and disregard for the US constitution, so his default mode was to insult and denigrate the persons expressing these well-founded criticisms. The honest truth is, Mr Trump is really not fit to shovel human excrement, let alone fit for an elected office. The burning shame of his election should eternally scar the Democrats rather than the Republicans, because the Democrats were so appalling bad in the 2016 election that they could not defeat Donald Trump. Sterner words of condemnation than those may be possible, but I cannot find them. History will remember Hillary Clinton mainly for this.

That's not a very good documentary. It's highly repetitive, but the part where he let "Republican voters" explaining why they will vote for Bush Jr... is appalling. Link here I don't know if they typically represent the classical Republican voter, I hope not, because in this video they represented an excellent argument to ban democracy. |
