Today I learned that saving a colleagues backside by effectively doing their job for them just means that you get grief for it.

I've done it many times, often end up carrying the can without any reward. BUT I still do it! I never learn.

Ummm... yes. The job needs to be done, he's messing up, his work directly affects mine, it's a lot easier now to sort it out than to let it happen and then try to fix it afterwards. It'll take a lot more money and there will be a lot less time available to do it in as well. Plus I'll be on my own to do it.

My attitude is that I'm paid to do the job and I will do my best to do it as well as it can be done. I should not just throw my hat at it because someone is not bothered.

that sexism is rampant in Hollywood, despite this being the 21st century... apparently Hollywood considors Sigourney Weaver 'too old' to play a viable action part (Namely Ripley in the new Aliens movie)...

Screw that, Sigourney is as much of an action star as any of those other actors... and i'd definitely want to see her play Ripley again, as long as the writing is good this time around lol

I learned today that my mother likes the music of Carlos Santana and my father likes the music of John Legend.

They are both in their mid 70's.
