"Saucy" films on TV, pre-Channel 4 [MOVED]
Hi
With apologies to this thread -- http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t56...ss-scenes.html -- I wonder if anyone has any clear memories of 'X-rated' films broadcast on British in the TV pre-video and pre-Chanel 4 era that looked uncut (from, say, 1970 onwards) By X-rated here I mean the BBFC X cert of course, so we're not talking about porn. But I know that some saucier material found its way onto TV via foreign movies on BBC2 and I'm wondering just how daring the broadcasters could be in this era. I'm thinking about feature films mainly as I know TV dramas have been covered in the thread mentioned above. But it would be good to know about documentaries and arts programmes too. Cheers! |

I clearly remember the love ban starring hywell Bennet and Nannette Newman on TV mid 70s .
there's a fantasy sequence where he sees some girls playing netball suddenly become naked and vef favourite Nicola Austin and another girl walk naked across a zebra crossing . quite an eye opener for the 10 year old me !. |

Thanks for that
According to the British Universities Film & Video Council's rather useful TV Times archive, The Love Ban was transmitted in the London region in July 1980 and again in Feb 1982. Haven't got information for the other regions though. Films made their way slowly around the ITV regions (unless they were networked across all of them), so it could be you saw it earlier if you weren't in London. |

Defo earlier than 1980 and it was also outside the London region .
Blood on Satan's claw was another that would pop up back in those days with a very naked Linda Hayden . Yet another real eye opener that was ! |

That's a good one (shown in 1976 on ITV apparently).
I encountered the famous still of Linda H in that several times before seeing the film. |
