looking at the incident with henry he handled the ball twice it was on the blind side of the referee so not really his fault and platini wasn,t playing so not his fault but platini+blatter promote fair playcontinually .the first match was played 90mins the second 120 mins an extra half an hour in france should have been 90mins then penalties.i was just wondering why no response from him

I love the fact that 'Ozy' Joe Bugner has come into the jungle,...the first thing he did was scare the shite out of everyone about all the creepy crawlly nasty bitey stingey things that they will find....

Been a bit cooler down here in what was Van Diemens Land, although we've had a few warm days.
The Thunderstorms arrived last night and today we had a few drizzle periods.
It's just about right at the moment.. around 15 C at 10pm

We are going to be in for a monster "fire risk" summer though

The flooding in Cumbria, mainly Cockermouth has been the worst ever-the rain has been non-stop and already one policeman has lost his life as a road collapsed under the weight of water pouring down the river-it reminded me of 2007 and the widespread flooding in many areas. It always amazes me that building on flood plains is still going on, don't they realise that to build on one of those areas is asking for future trouble!

Tonight is the thirtieth anniversary of Children in Need on television and radio and it should be a real doozy-its worth remembering that Sir Terry Wogan has been at the helm since it moved to television in the 1980's-surpassing the pathetic attempt that ITV used to have in their Thames Telethon. Last night I watched the Royal Albert Hall concert organised by Take That's Gary Barlow-if you missed it you can see on BBC Iplayer-worth it for Dame Shirley Bassey dueting with Dizzee Rascal on Diamonds Are Forever and the gorgeous Katherine Jenkins, Cheryl Cole & Lily Allen(looking normal for a change) If you feel the need why not donate to the charity whilst watching tonight-every little helps and it all goes to the kids.

Finally did you see the Christmas M&S (Marks and Spencer) advert yet? Those of you who don't know what that is, its a department store famous for its clothing and food and always being cheaper than most other shops. The advert has been complained about-the bit in question is Robert Glennister informing us that "come on, its Christmas, its about that bird in her underwear!"-cutting to Noemie Lenoir in said underwear-8 complaints so far so I doubt it going to cause a national outcry just yet but the complaint is that it is sexist! What sort of sad sack sits at home and complains about a scene that is less than 15secs on screen?? Even my mother thinks its a bit of fun.

I agree if those two clowns win it will be a farce-I am sure they are nice lads but can't hold a note in a tin can-Cowell is just in it for the money and the publicity for his record company-in any case I don't watch it so I can't make a lot of comments on it only what I read in the paper or see online but even then I am not that interested-bring back SuBo I say

Considering the fact that there is cheating in EVERY football match I've ever seen ... from players automatically appealing for offside when it clearly isn't, to appealing for non-existent fouls, claiming corners when it's clearly a goal kick (and vice versa), falling down and thrashing around like a freshly landed trout when they haven't even been fouled, stealing ground at free kicks and throw-ins ... I think the vast majority of players have questionable "instincts"!

Perhaps he thinks that by pleading lack of premeditation, he can excuse the act of claiming a goal which he knows was not validly scored?

But that is completely illogical, Captain...

If FIFA were to order replays of every match that was decided by a dodgy incident such as Henry's handball against Ireland then these International tournaments would take forever to complete. Sometimes it goes for your team, sometimes it goes against. You just have to learn to live with it. If Ireland do get a replay then England should immediately demand a replay of the quarter final against Argentina when Maradona blatantly handled the ball. Hell, why not go the whole hog and have a replay of the qualifier at Anfield in 1978 when Joe Jordan handled the ball in the Welsh box and the ref gave the penalty to Scotland. Such things happen in football, it's part of the game. If we didn't have controversy in football it would soon get pretty boring.

I am quite well aware of what you went through in Australia this year, my friends' cousins who live in Warrandyte, Melbourne were very close to the major fire of this year (they put me and him up when we visited in 1993) so my concern for your countrymen is not in anyway denegrating the weather conditions-my comments were making the comparison of the extraordinary conditions on both sides of the world. If you found anything offensive in that it was not meant to be so.
