Members vs Guests accounts.

Iv'e been bored and my Paintshop Pro program crapped the bed so I can't produce any fakes lately. I decided to cruise around the members list and was surprised to see the number of members who have never posted anything. I also noticed accounts created nine years ago with no posts yet they "visited" VEF two days ago.

Two things occurred to me:
1- Thank you to all the heavy lifters here who constantly post and contribute.
2- It makes me feel better about my meager number of posts.

Once I find another program I'll post again (I don't post other peoples fakes).
It's the only way I can really contribute to the forum, other then thanking peoples posts, as I don't have a "collection".

Plenty of us dont have collections

I recall years ago a female celeb site i was on would update every few days and on a real slow week would request art work from the members

The IT skilled / artistic members who had real talent duly replied with all manner of creations

The unskilled went to websites like this collage maker and cobbled together something

Showing old content in a different way is as good as something new imho

Is "727" your handle for your fakes?

There are ton of free-or-nearly paint applications, that are more than capable for faking.

Yes I use 727 as a tag for anything I make. The images also have multiple watermarks that are either 727 or Concept 727.

As far as the paint program goes, I am constrained by my crap PC, my arthritis (which prevents long periods of mouse use) and my unwillingness to devote any time to learning another program. I do have Photoshop CS6 Extended but it tends to cause my PC to freeze up, probably because of my RAM. I used the old JASC PSP7 and it works well and is loaded with plenty of tools. I absolutely love the image browser it uses.

I just do the fakes for fun and if they look "good" as opposed to "real", I'm o.k. with it. Also, I only post them on VEF. I figured something that could only be found here might help make the forum unique. I did post a few on another forum a few years ago, but I bailed out of that forum when I realised what it was leaning towards with it's content.

I didn't intend this thread to go in this direction but I appreciate your interest and input.

Sorry for you pain-- arthritis and a mouse can be a problem.

Give paint dot net a try. The price is right -- free-- and its been around a long time, lightweight and should play nice with an older machine. Very active and helpful user community.

I look in here about once a fortnight. I don't have any pictures to offer, and don't make up the difference in these general discussion threads either (apart from the occasional one like this)

I'm happy to offer my thanks to the many stalwart contributors here who have so much to offer (and their subjects, too). If I had money I'd throw it at them
