Ahhhhh the 80`s. Not that I remember them as wasn't born till one second to midnight 1999
Re-watched it again last night , Uh huh my Fridays evenings are a thing of envy Right then basically the story is about an orphan teen who`s a bit of a wimp yet somehow has managed to survive in a 1997 set wasteland Apocalypse. Where everyone has to get around on bikes plus water is the main currency and all anybody can think about. Although there is a rumour a hidden reservoir of crispy clear fresh water exists. Our lad would like to find it but doesn't know how. So mostly passes his days avoiding getting killed and wishing he could be a superhero. Until discovers a weapon that`ll allow him to. If that all sounds cheesy then don't fret. This 2015 film is a homage to the basic core elements of those genres videos that were the big sellers back in the 80`s. Particularly horrors with over the top gore effects What sells it for me though is the spectacular Laurence Leboeuf Was pleasantly surprised to see they`ve even given her a ten minute sort of back story now. It`s available to check out on YouTube. Yet will make precious little sense if you haven't seen the main film.

That's always one of my go-to films, depending on the mood I'm in. Same goes additionally for the (1983) film of National Lampoon's Vacation. Another one I tackle when the mood hits me right is Falling Down (1993).
They all take me to a special time and place mentally, so I visit these quite often, more than I should perhaps. |

I`m sure I've typed about this film already
So forgiveness for repeating myself
About the 1994 (How often it`s daily shown in this country) creature feature. One I have to have seen in part and entirety a couple hundred times already. This month Me exaggerate For shame Look it`s not that I don't like it. In fact I do. Not least as Zilla actually kills folks. Indeed, dead. Also the cast is great. Even has some decent laughs. But geez this must be the most repeated film on the Sony Channel. Which is saying something. Also tends to be repeated at exactly the hour of the wolf. 3am. Coincidentally when I've just arrived back at V.E.F towers after helping alleviate my neighbours of their possessions. Yes I go nightly looting. Do you expect them to rob themselves What is this Russia

My last post from here was 2015, and since then I've given a load of viewings to a few movies. One that I have counted is The Room, so far, 9 times. My last post, I think I saw it thrice. I've since seen it an additional 6 times, and with June 27 marking the 15 year anniversary of the movie's theatrical release, you better believe I'm going to give it the 10th viewing.
I've seen Samurai Cop 6 times in total, probably only twice at the time of my last post. One big reason to this spike has been the various commentary tracks on the blu-ray. One by a podcast, one with Matt Hannon, the titular character, and one with his buddy cop co-star, Mark Frazer. With that, I think I've only seen the movie without commentary 3 times. From out of nowhere, Die Hard. I always loved the movie, but since December 2015, it just somehow hooked me more than previous viewings. I haven't counted since the beginning, so I don't know a total number. If I had to guess, before the Christmas viewing, it would probably be 3 times. It's a low amount because I always watched the sequels along with it, including 4 and 5. Since 2015 though, screw 4 and 5, I stick to the first 3. The 4th movie is not bad, but I want my last memory of it to be decent, because I feel like subsequent viewings will make it worse. With the 5th movie, dead on first viewing, that's just crap. Listing will help me estimate a count for Die Hard viewings. Middle of December and then Christmas 2015. Christmas 2016, 2017 viewing with a friend while we chatted online. And looking at my movie count of 2017, I watched the movie 5 times! So, estimated 10 times? I love that movie so much, the best films are those that get better and/or you just notice and appreciate all kinds of things beyond the more narrow, though entertaining aspects. Die Hard, it rings the bells of action, charismatic villain, everyman action hero. Beyond that, a deep pool of supporting and minor characters that just add so many ingredients into the recipe, it's incredible. Die Hard 2, I watched a lot in 2010 because it had a TV run on Starz and I DVR'ed it. I never counted that, but I think I have matched my Die Hard 1 view count with that film, finally. 2017 was the rise of Die Hard 3, because I watched the sequels that year, but then Die Hard 3 stuck out enough for me to watch it separately during the summer of that year, and while having pizza. Three times in 2017 for that movie, Die Hard 2 edged out with 4, which is odd, I don't remember how that happened. Easily though, Die Hard 3 is the best sequel in that series, but the second movie is still awesome, I just am familiar with it too much. I now have a little list in my head of obligatory yearly viewings, which have boasted view counts for some movies. Christmas ones in particular, Santa's Slay has been a yearly viewing since 2013, so, 5 total viewings. Added in 2015, Invasion USA, which I watched earlier that year. So, 4 times, and that has a Christmas shopping scene, no other Christmas material. Still, Chuck Norris, I believe everyone has that one Norris film, and that one is mine. A Christmas Story, twice, but that number will balloon in a few years. Outside of Christmas, viewings from the last couple months have wielded incredible results that I need to give yearly viewings to the following... No Retreat No Surrender (3 total viewings), Miami Connection (3 total viewings so far), Raw Force (twice), these 3 along with The Room and Samurai Cop were part of a massive marathon of horrible yet hilarious movies in the Summer of 2017. I want to repeat that, they're officially my Fave 5 of bad movies, cult films in general. Also, Road House, only saw it a second time overall last year, but I deliberately had it be the final movie of 2017 for me to watch. I adore it more than the first viewing in 2015, I just have to give it some yearly love. Also, Firecracker, fantastic 80s martial arts B-movie, starring Jilian Kesnar (RIP), who does pretty well at her fake fighting, but it's just such a romp. Nudity, sure, but man, the biggest thing I took from it this recent 2nd viewing was that they recycled about 2 or 3 grunt sounds in all the fight scenes. Even with one of the main antagonists, played by Darby Hinton (epic tache by the way, in this and Malibu Express), everyone that got hit and took bumps, made the same grunt noises, low budget blues. Similar B-movie romps to give yearly viewings, Shotgun (1989), and Hard Ticket to Hawaii. Also, I have to give Malibu Express some love, only saw it once, but want to see it more and more. Another one, Angels of the City, that first viewing in 2015 made me die laughing, I can't believe I haven't watched it since. Just in general, more PM Entertainment movies (i.e. Shotgun and Angels of the City), and more Andy Sidaris films (i.e. Malibu Express and Hard Ticket to Hawaii). |

Just watched Mr Brooks for the fifth time or seventh once more... Bah... Feel sure that if both Cook and Moore`s characters weren't included. Would been all to the better
Even though Dane (Dry Heave) Cook is utterly mistakenly cast (Considering he can barely pass for a comedian let alone an actor) in it , Also there`s a daft sub plot nobody needed involving Demi (Couldn't you have hired an unknown instead) Moore. Still like this film. As the chemistry and interplay between the two leads is quite frankly flawless in a performance , scripted and directional sense. If only they`d dropped the periphery rubbish with Dane/Demi entirely and focused on Mr Brooks kill crazed counter part nagging him , Plus the terrific side story concerning his daughter , What a fantastic rightfully lauded psychological thriller trilogy it might have become.

Provided you`ve ABP in place don't worry about the half dozen pop ups this site sends your way , as they`re rendered harmless and go nowhere
Just streamed it for the third time , Is an excellent adaptation of Laird Koenig`s novel. Which granted isn't surprising. Considering he wrote the script. Unfortunately mostly anything I could say about it in any depth brings spoilers. So let`s stick to the basic "Plot". In which Jodie Foster as thirteen year old Rynn Jacobs. Has to keep her sharpest wits about her continually . Considering local sicko McPerv pedophile Martin Sheen (Frank Hallet) wants her in the worst of ways. It`s a superb film in all regards , with everybody who appears on screen inhabiting their characters believably fully. If you haven't checked it out yet , do so

Chronicle. Basically a cautionary tale about why teenage boys should never be allowed to have superpowers. It still is the best metahuman as opposed to superhero film I've ever seen. Great special effects and more importantly a terrific story.
