I'm no computer guru (far from it ), but as I read all the Ibam problem and complaints being submitted we should all try to keep in mind what VEF Staff and Admin has been saying ... Ibam is going through a monumental task of relocating their equipment, and during this time there is bound to be glitches, various problems, and outages, and though we are aggravated, frustrated, and anxious for them to be up and running smoothly, we need to be a bit more patient and give them time to iron out all the issues and get back to normal operations.

Well, all right, but if the IBam team isn't aware at all that genuine file names are randomised nowadays?

Is anybody able to contact them and point to that issue? My attempts to get in touch with them directly or indirectly failed, unfortunately.

See the first paragraph of my signature why genuine file names are useful.

I was preferring IBam as the most reliable image host (as it was the past few years), but I'm uncertain meanwhile.

It actually isn't:

The problem is that hotflix.net changed the server the thumb is hosted on meanwhile (no idea why ).
previously: http://www.hotflick.net/u/n/zmPHWHthP6/tn/y9U8cZAbY8NPgkr.jpg (Jism Jim's original post)
currently: https://hotflicknet.s3.amazonaws.com/u/n/zmPHWHthP6/tn/y9U8cZAbY8NPgkr.jpg

I was able to restore that post because the link to the full image is still valid.

Please consider that when choosing hotflix.net as image host!

I'm in that same boat and I'm not a happy camper! During the "salvage panic" I re-upped literally hundreds of posts using Hotflick and now they have all become "invisible".

All was fine for about a week, but it seems that Hotflick's servers have now become incompatible with Firefox, which is what I use. When going to any of my Hotflick re-ups all I now see is my post(s) totally devoid of all images.
But when using IE (I'm told that Opera and Chrome also work) I see little boxes with a red "X" in the center of them in place of my images.
I am only able to click upon one box at a time, and when doing so the image does open -- but I cannot open/view all the images at the same time..

Because I am only able to open/view one image at a time re-upping those posts/images back to Ibox would take an eternity doing them one image at a time! Unless perhaps if I am doing something wrong

That Firefox does not show broken images by default has bugged me for some time, now I have found a solution on Stackoverflow that does not require yet another extension. In your profile folder, find or create the chrome/userContent.css file and paste the following there:

Code:
/* Enable image placeholders */
@-moz-document url-prefix(http), url-prefix(file) {
  img:-moz-broken{
    -moz-force-broken-image-icon:1;
    width:24px;
    height:24px;
  }
}
Restart Firefox, and voilà! Now the broken Hotflick thumbnails are indicated with a clickable placeholder.

I use a dis-continued extension in firefox called feature fix to show the dead or still loading
Main downside - a few pics that are dead still show as alive thumbs

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/fir...ix/?src=search

You just have to change the options/advanced/tick top 2 boxes - show broken / to load set from 23x 23 to 180x 180 - upside or downside - download managers then download the dead
- useful if trying to work out whats died when comparing.

or you can swap to another browser that uses the same rendering engine / similar add-ons
or has close ties to mozilla

Plenty mention Palemoon because it uses virtually the same extensions

Sea monkey seems to be where more than a few extension developers have gone
because they were originally a part of mozilla that forked off as FF3

Talks about going from firefox to sea monkey and the add-on monkey fix
(the up to date version of feature fix)

Aren't the pics you already had on imagebox still there? You can get the old imagebox links to replace the hot flick ones. That's what I'm going to have to do.

I can't see the thumbs on firefox or safari.

Imagevenue is garbage. So many times when I try uploading using them one of the pictures ends up not showing up and just shows a blank part on the upload.

No issues reported on their forum that say pics not loading

Just tried via proxy anonymouse (because i'm in a banned country)
