VLC player issues
Yesterday my VLC player started opening up a new window AFTER I closed out any video I was watching. This new screen looks like a file window because the video I just watched is in there in thumbnail form.
VLC played didn't update or anything so I can't figure out where this new window came from. When you first hit play on a video you can see this new screen quickly blink in and then it's there right after you close the video. I can't find any settings to stop it from popping up or anything. Is anybody else having the same problem?

I had that issue once - simply uninstalled an re-installed and it disappeared
You might find going to tools / preferences and resetting preferences (bottom left) will return everything back to normal or not. Think it has something to do with offering 3D but how it came about is a mystery Where the controls are to turn it on / off is anyones guess given how complicated these players are becoming as they try and cater for every conceivable need which goes well beyond just playback. Select the advanced controls (bottom left) and see how many options are available - video is right down the bottom but its pretty advanced stuff The VLC forum will no doubt have encountered this issue before but under what description / title |

I figured this out. Somehow a box named Docked Playlist got checked and that's what was causing the playlist to open up every time I watched a video. Unchecking that box put everything back to normal. I also figured out how to make videos open full screen every time.
