Eyes popped out at a TV advert the other night, for the Royal British Legion I think, showing a young widow tending a grave and displaying plenty of cleavage. No idea who she is and couldn't find the ad on their website. It felt very wrong but boy they did look good.

I think he is wrong. I know plenty of people who take no interest in what is going on around them, and are in a state of blissful ignorance. There are also those who can happily ignore what goes on, so long as they are doing fine. She does not come across as irredeemably callous. Just incredibly thick.
