Music teacher who dedicated his life to helping people with special needs sings with student in viral video




Robert Mullen has dedicated his life to helping people with special needs. By day, he works
for the largest disability care provider in New Zealand. And in his free time, he continues
to help through the power of music... He often posts videos of his lessons, and one student
in particular has gone viral. His name is Alex, and he's a 27-year-old man with Down syndrome
and exceptional musical abilities. "[Alex] is a true example of someone who's ability is far greater
than their disability," Mullen told CBS News.

There's a nice video wherein Alex sings in rap style and plays the harmonica.

Generous stranger gives his first-class seat to mom flying to hospital with ailing baby

A baby with an oxygen machine enjoyed the perks of a first-class flight to Philadelphia,
thanks to the kindness of a traveler who gave up his seat.

"To the man in 2D. Today you were traveling from Orlando to Philly. I don’t
know you, but I imagine you saw us somewhere. I was pushing a stroller,
had a diaper bag on my arm and also lugging an oxygen machine for my
daughter. We had smiles on our faces as we were headed to see her “friends”
at CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia).

This is pretty old, but it is adorable and heartwarming so you will watch it and go "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!" and then go back to fapping.

Anyway, a raven had an encounter with a porcupine and like most encounters with porcupines this one ended kinda badly for the thing that wasn't the porcupine.

Luckily the raven decided that humans weren't entirely evil. Mostly evil, but not entirely evil. So it sat on a fence rail for an hour cawing and cawing until a few people came over to see what was making that goddamned racket.

I really like how it acts like a kid with a splinter in it's finger/hand, it hurts and wants it out but it knows it's gonna hurt to get the splinter out and is having none of it.

Also porcupine quills are especially devious as they are barbed like the stingers of honeybees, and while they don't inject venom, like honeybees do, which is a plus, if left unpulled/removed the quills will work their way into the body, potentially passing through vital organs which would be....unpleasant.

After the removal of all the quills the raven hung around for a day or two and the people who helped gave it some food and water.

Rapper’s Insistence on Featuring Homeless People in Music Video Results in Family Reunion



Back in August, Manchester-based musician Bugzy Malone was shooting a music video
for his song called “Run”. Instead of recruiting actors for the shoot, however, he wanted
to feature some of the city’s rough sleepers as a means of spotlighting homelessness....
After the video was published, Malone received an email from a local mother who recognized
one of the homeless men as her missing son.
...the homeless man later ended up in the hospital after trying to commit suicide...
Malone says: “I’ve been at the bottom, it’s not easy. Homeless or not, you must treat people
with respect, rich or poor. People that have struggled are the special ones out here!”

The man was so touched by Malone’s kind words, he reunited with his family and committed
to getting his life together. According to Malone, the young man now has a job and a girlfriend –
and the rapper says that his hand in the young man’s inspiring tale is easily the highlight of
his entire career.

High School Lunch Lady Gifted New Car from Secret Santa As Her Husband Battles Cancer and Lupus





“Thank you, Secret Santa, whoever you are,” Stewart said. “This is going to help me so much, we struggled so much.”

Stewart, who works at Teton High School and does other odd jobs around Driggs, was called in for an emergency shift at the school’s cafeteria. But when she got there, she was surprised with the good news.

“You guys, they bought me a car,” she announced to students as she made her way down a hallway. “Can you believe this? I can’t even breathe.”

Stewart and her husband have been battling a bout of tough luck. Stewart, who is a survivor of colon cancer, is now supporting her husband as he battles prostate cancer and lupus. Because he can’t work, Stewart does various jobs around town, including cleaning, in addition to her job in the high school cafeteria.

She gets between her jobs in a car she borrowed from her parents after the engine in her van gave out.

In her spare time, Stewart also bakes rolls for all the funerals in Teton Valley.

This Christmas break, she plans to get surgery because she couldn’t afford to take additional days off.
