Top Of The Pops. With proper cheesy presenters and a decent hot girl dance group.

Even Garfield Morgan as Superintendant Haskins, Regan and Carter's snobbish and standoffish, yet loyal and dependable boss, who annoyed the hell out of them and yet forced them to respect him and what he stood for: who could possibly stand in these shoes? Bring back the Sweeney, or make a Sweeney for our times (Life on Mars anyone?) but don't re-make the Sweeney. |

I think re-runs and DVDs are good enough. Case in point: The Monkees. I loved the original show. I just bought both seasons on DVD and it holds up extremely well. In the late 80s, when the original band was having a resurgance in popularity, someone came up with the bright idea of doing "The New Monkees". Needless to say, the show sucked. In the late 90s, to promote a new album, the original group did an hour long TV special that, to put it kindly, wasn't anywhere near as good as the original show. Whether it was the times, or the fact that the guys were in their mid 50s, who knows? Look at Hollywood, with all these movie remakes of 60s and 70s shows. Were "Get Smart" or "Starsky and Hutch" or "The Avengers" as good as the originals? Leave well enough alone.
