On another note, I am noticing much more rust on U.S. Navy ships than I remember from the days of my youth. Sailors used to spend most of their waking hours scraping and painting. If discipline, morale and alertness have slipped so badly, it is no wonder that accidents at sea have risen and admirals are being relieved of command.
