So my colleague Wendigo is making a 100% valid point - if you don't have a reason to carry killing gear, don't carry it

Btw, in USSR we had no difficulty moving booze from republic to republic. Not if you knew how, anyway. Clearly Canada is not USSR. Canada must become more sophisticated
Perhaps Canadians don't like shoving bottles of booze up their arses to get them over a provincial/country border?

Heh.
So, both the Brits and the Fins are too savage to be able to carry knives without getting all stabby, meanwhile we here in Canada pretty much all carry a knife, and many drive to work in deer season with loaded guns in our vehicles, without stabbing folk or shooting folk.
I never knew that Europe was such a savage and uncivilized place where the subjects, upon being armed, would go on killing sprees.
Here in North America, we call places like that "Shitholes."

Here in Britain we call places were over 30,000 people are killed by guns every year "Hellholes" so stick that in your grenade launcher and polish it

You need to chill out and take a large dose of pills.
We don't carry knives not because we are too savage but because we don't need them. I do accept that concept may be alien to you but I will type slowly so you can try to grasp it
In my daily life I would estimate 98%+ of my knife usage is for eating.
If I eat at home I have knives here
If I eat at work I have knives in my draw and there are knives in the canteen.
If I eat out most restaurants over here provide knives.

The only times I need knives that are not for eating purposes are maybe for cutting rope/twine, I have knives in my shed and one in my car.

I therefore do not feel hard done to in any way by not being able to carry a knife whenever I go out. In fact it would more likely be inconvenient to carry one.

You really are an angry little sausage and do need to seek out psychiatric help.

That here in the merry old land of Oz, we are into the second month of autumn and still experiencing days in the high twenties Celsius. Good thing global warning is a load of crock.

No you just have an annoying tendency to regularly throw ill thought out insults and nonsense around like the Brits and Finns being savage and living in places you refer to as shitholes; rather like a grumpy gorilla throwing lumps of dung around.
You cannot grasp the simple fact that not every country wants to be an American clone.
We Brits and I suspect Australians, Finns and many others including most Americans are happy the way we live and accept our differences.
Please just move on and stop poisoning this thread with your juvenile antics.

If you have any posts relevant to the thread by all means contribute but think before you post old chap.

Are the British and the Fins to be trusted with weapons?
If yes, then the laws are not rational, of not, well that speaks for itself.

Well since 2/3rds of our suicides (20K) are by gun and our suicide rate is comparable to yours, and since your murder rate in London has overtaken at least for the first two months of this year - our hellhole known as New York City, you seem well on your way to being a hellhole too.

Let us see what outlawing knives and rope does to your murder and suicide rates. I am pretty sure action in either area won't have much effect.

As the baton magnet Rodney King once said, "Can't we just get along?"

I quite often have a Swiss Army Knife in my pocket. I have carried a penknife around since I was at school and it can be very handy at times for minor jobs. There was certainly a time in the distant past when nobody would have given this a second thought. While the police can now decide anything is an offensive weapon if they choose, a Swiss pocket knife with some useful tools is generally considered "street legal" by the Home Office and complies to their restrictions. I also have an expensive Leatherman Wave and would never take this out as it has a locking blade and is not legal to carry in public without a very good reason. In many ways, I'm sorry I bought it, although that was some years ago when these things were not a big issue. While I would never dream of using a knife as a weapon, there are unfortunately now a fair number of fuckwits who will, without a second thought, so I've certainly no objection to reasonable knife laws.
