13 is a lucky number for Jewish people, so Friday 13th is bunkum!
Took my PC over to our friend and he said he will install Windows 7 and upgrade a load of programs and software AND add more memory and speed it up so I can finally stop having thoughts of throwing it out the window when it locks up for the eighth time in an hour. This should effectively last another two-three years unless Microsoft move the goalposts and stop support earlier than 2020. The cost will be around 360-good job I have saved a lot up over the years

I have serious doubts about people who consider populism and nationalism to be bad things.
I wonder if these same people consider elitism and globalism to be good things?

All "isms" are bad. Isms grow into dogma.

I think you'll find that this is about the average number of posts in 24 hours on this forum, although I must admit it would have been a bit spooky to hit the 1,000 mark. The number I look for now is the number of users online, especially since I logged on about 2 years ago and found this...

...I confess to being a trifle worried when I thought I was the only person here!

Syria air strikes: US and allies attack 'chemical weapons sites
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-43762251

"At a Pentagon briefing shortly after Mr Trump's announcement, Gen Joseph Dunford listed three targets that had been struck:

A scientific research facility in Damascus, allegedly connected to the production of chemical and biological weapons
A chemical weapons storage facility west of Homs
A chemical weapons equipment storage site and an important command post, also near Homs"

I hope our intelligence on identifying chemical weapons has improved since the Iraq war

The only rational follow-up to the attack is to bring any fighting-age men whose families were killed and homes destroyed into Europe, as it is obvious to our leaders that those men will have every reason to love us and our culture.

I know some of you on VEF won't agree with me and probably believe that Putin is to blame for everything. I'm certainly not a member of his fan club, nor am I a left-wing Corbyn fan who wants to see him in Downing Street. But we have people supposedly running our country who seem to be doing as they please, without answering to anyone. Trump continues to post bizarre messages on line - you might say what's new, and I genuinely believe that what's taking place is very wrong. It's like a madness seemed to have overtaken common sense.

If you see things differently then fair enough, but I think our leaders are playing very dangerous games, which nobody seems to appreciate or want to question.
What disturb me the most is that neither Assad, nor Putin, nor May, nor Macro or Trump do represent the point of view of all their populations.

They play with their soldiers like children playing with Playmobils.
But there are civilian people who die because of these "sporadic dictators".
