Apparently the late Andrew Breitbart was Jewish and saw Rush Limbaugh as his inspiration (would you admit to that?). So it's entirely possible that Breitbart is funded by pro-Israel lobby groups. As an Irish Catholic who lived through the Northern Ireland troubles, I'm of the impression that governments are very pragmatic about terrorism i.e. they do not care what they actually do, just as long as they give them what they want. The British government and Murdoch press went to great pains to tell us what a truly evil organisation the IRA is but when it came to allegations that the INLA (Loyalists) were collaborating with the RUC and British Army, they were rather more coy.

Mass rape is an act of war.
I wonder how many more must be raped or killed before folk realize that a state of war exists.

Apparently, David Cameron has absolutely no plans drawn up for an exit from the EU. What does this tell us all? The referendum is going to be carefully stage managed and the public will be coerced into accepting continued membership.

It is already obvious that this silly deal to keep Britain in the EU is a complete waste of time and most of the major faults with the way the EU is run, will remain. But the UK public, seen as sheep by most politicians are expected to be taken in by (Just call me) Dave's skilled negotiations that are apparently going to set us all free.

In reality, it's unlikely anything of note will improve and some of our existing rights may actually vanish. So as far as I can see, there is no point whatsoever in taking part in this referendum and if I was younger, I would certainly be hoping to move as far away from Europe as possible.

Even that's subject to qualification. If you have, say, the decorators in, then your home becomes their workplace and [if they're non-smokers and/or assholes] you might be prosecuted if you smoke.

The UK has been overrun by control-freaks and small but influentially-loud lobby-groups who pursue their various petty power-trips without reference to, understanding of, or the slightest care for the sorry history of over-regulation and the damage it's doing to civil society. We have moved from "whatever is not explicitly forbidden is allowed" to "only what is specifically allowed is permissible".

I'm a heavy and utterly uinrepentant smoker... and so I won't live to see the end-game of this sorry mess : -)

Ahh but then you can fire their asses. Ohh wait that would probably get you a false termination charge, huh?

The US is doing the same kind of stuff. Although as a non-smoker I personally do like the no smoking in eateries. The separate sections never worked and if you are not used to the smell of smoke it can be detrimental to enjoying a meal. BUT then there is the opposite side too, someone's right to enjoy a legal vice on public property. No easy solution.

As to your heavy smoking I have known several people and seen even more on the news who live to be 90 or even 100 years old and smoke and drank their whole lives.

Smokers had it far too easy for too long. In the 80s when I started work in an office enviroment I was continuously forced to endure a hideous poisonous fog by smokers including a foul pipe smoker. We weren't allowed to complain or even open a window in the winter.

Then in the 90s, the smoking room was introduced with the 'smoking break' and I found myself covering for colleagues who got an extra 3 or 4 breaks a day. No corresponding breaks, or rooms for herion users to shoot up or alcoholics to drink.

Now the poor lambs have to stand outside apparently during their extra breaks. I guess the would complain of discrimination if an employer refused to employ smokers due to this effect on their work rate (as I would do.)

And then there were the nights out forced to breath in this horrible toxic smog, waking up the next day to find your best clothes smelling wretched due to the smoke or examining the burns on your hands from drunk smokers wielding their fags on the dance floor.

If you still want to smoke it's up to you but I recommend you spend some time in hospital respiratory ward as I've had to when visiting my father. It does not just affect you but also those that care about you the most, at least have a thought for them as well.

The good old days before the nanny state eh? Give me a break (without a fag)
