BB (Stephen) was one of my good friends here on VEF. A genuinely funny guy, we shared the same taste in women, shared a love of a good old school wank over a classic magazine, and was someone you could talk to about anything.

I hadn't seen this thread until now, which makes me doubly upset - I had wondered where he was as he hadn't PMed me for a while.

Let's just say that I hope I brightened up his life by sending him what must have amounted to a good three or four dozen magazines to add to his collection - we both enjoyed talking about the delectable Sophie Moone.

Here's to BB, who will be sorely missed by all. RIP my friend.

I remember one entertaining PM exchange BB and I had. He had just gone into hospital, and I remember him waiting in anticipation for the arrival of a small lot of Club International magazines from the mid-2000s, all of which had Stella (Sophie Moone) in them.

He told me about his getting them just in time and sneaking them into the hospital in order to knock out a quiet and quick one when the drugs had worn off, and was especially pleased about the large poster of Stella and Sandy that came with one of the issues. However, he had hardly got into his bed when a rather hot looking nurse had caught his eye.

Cheeky bugger, he had plenty of front for sure. The way he told the story had me picking up my guts from the floor - the split in my sides was massive.

My own and the reaction of others here to BBs death prompts me to record the following:

I'm a member of a number of forums covering a variety of interests (my username in those places being different to that here, of course) but I find VEF the most polite, erudite, and humane. Superficially it's a forum about sex but I don't think it's pretentious to say that it's also and perhaps more profoundly about nostalgia and the camaraderie of those who have lived a little and experienced all that goes along with that.

I've only discovered this today and had no idea BB was ill. I did not know him well, but he did befriend me.

You are gonna be missed by some great people. (Some not so great).

I'm very shocked and saddened to hear of BB's passing. I've only just found out he's gone because I've been away from VEF for a while. I won't claim him as a mate but we did have some communication and I always enjoyed his posts, particularly the ones in this discussion and news forum.

Goodbye BB - we'll never scour the record or porn shops of Manchester together now as you once suggested we might but when I'm there I'll be remembering you.

Rest in Peace.
