There will be a section in avast that allows you to do your thing, i.e. allow certain sites to be exempt, if that fails, when you download with JDownloader try shutting down avast on a temp basis, if that works? and if you get similar problems? do the same I hope this helps

Unfortunately adding JDownloader, filefactory and share-online to exclusions hasn't helped

The folks at Jdownloader, have a VERY long history of not conforming their
application to Filefactory's specs, and at the minimum, taking forever to work
out any kinks. From my experiences over the years, by the time those kinks
are worked out, Filefactory makes a few changes of their own, and the entire
process starts all over again. Jdownloader to me, is like having a car with all
the bells and whistles, but has a dead battery. Great when it works with what
you're downloading.....pure hell when it's not. I gave up on that application
several years ago, and only use the Firefox add on, DownThemAll when dling
from FF. IMO, the techs at Jdownloader are nothing short of lazy.

These two hosts only do the same thing direct through Firefox for me which is why I came to the conclusion the problem had to be a third party program

I always get this error on filefactory:
Server Load Too High

The server hosting this file is temporarily overloaded. You can download this file immediately by upgrading to FileFactory Premium. Alternatively, you can try again shortly.
Please contact support if you require further assistance."

Filefactory suck for free downloaders.

As BCFC points out, few filehosts are great for free downloaders. Some are awful - others are a bit better (eg: fichier, zippyfile) but not if you are posting or downloading hi-def video files. At least VEF has a high number of FileFactory posts. If you are a quantity downloader here, it is probably worth buying premium.
Dor several years I have maintained a premium account at FF, so that I continue to give stuff away for free, the pay-off is that I sometimes get easy access to things other people post. I am not a business, but filehosts have to be.

With some boards you would need 4 or 5 different premium accounts to keep up with the posts - never mind if you were uploading actual files links.

'There is no such thing as a free lunch - It's mainly google that would have you believe otherwise!'
