Rapidgator - Worth it? - Page 2

Well I just logged out of my premium account , went in as a free user and it's happily downloading fine, currently at 10%, exhibit A here

Ok, thanks Wendigo. Apparently the issue was my browser blocking pop-ups. Capcha worked once I allowed pop-ups for the Rapidgator site only. Odd that I never had to do this before with Rapigator or any other filehost. Anyhow I got very frustrated over this problem and blamed Rapidgator. Perhaps I should not be so hasty next time!

Pop-ups depending on the browser / add-on should have little to do with solvemedia
which if not enabled on the 2nd rapidgator page
will distort the captchas so they dont fully load

The biggest culprit for this is no script though I'm betting ad-block plus would be a close 2nd
given its interfered with other sites not loading fully.

I've been using it for around a year. Longest I've renewed for was 3 months but normally just do one month after, like others have said, getting burned from others. Renewed for 6 months of filesonic for example

I have alot of problems downloading free from Rapigator as well. I click on the "Slow" option, the time counts down... then the page reloads.

Sometimes I'll get to the point of entering the captcha and it will go back to page I started from.

Other times it works fine and I can download no problems.

I don't know if there's an error in the way the links were posted or if RG are "encouraging" me to go premium.

Could be down to any of the following

- finite bandwidth allocated to free users has run out due to premium members usage

- server that those links are on is overloaded - free users get locked out

- you have a conflicting add-on - try your browser without them - usual culprits are ad-block plus and no script that play merry hell with their captcha - solve media - in my experience if you use noscript you have to allow the sites address on the first page and then solve media on the 2nd

No guarantees with these guys as their history shows

They always seem to become bad for free users when who ever is doing their financial side gets leaned on...has hapened quite a few times over the past years

If they've still got a thread at wjunction you can tell pretty quickly if this is happening

I'm having this problem with RG all the time now, I don't see any captchas at all.... Waste of space - always has been.

From upper midwest usa, I've never had a problem that was their fault as a free user. I've bought premium for a month at a time about three times now, not back to back. I'm happy with them. ymmv.

Edit - Forgot two things,
There are better hosters for free users.
While I never had slow transfers from them in premium mode, my link is only 1m/sec, which translates to a 250k real data speed.

As a free unregistered / registered user - doesnt seem to make any difference

Its Captchas - if your using no script - you have to allow the site on the first page and and solvemedia on the 2nd

I used it yesterday to download 5 pitifully small files 5-10 mb files

Only took 2 days to get them all

1 file every 2 hours

3 files per day

Best host for building up anticipation or pulling your hair out

I have a premium account, and for the most part the downloads are quite slow. Perhaps due to their servers, or demand is high. I'm quite patient, but when you can download quicker from some "free" sites I begin to wonder. So maybe when renewal time comes, I wont.
