I agree about the eroticism of jazz because I have always said sex and jazz go well into an explosive mix(seek out some of my video clips and you will find a jazz track on it and it goes perfectly with real striptease too BUT it depends what type and how discordant the music is and by that I mean screeching trumpets and overblown saxes in which case that hurts my ears! Personally I hate jazz, I had to put up with it in the car with my father's mix tapes playing god knows what from Frank Sinatra to Harry James(speeded up version(recorded by my father on a reel-to-reel recorder) of a trumpet tune that plagued me for years) which he used to swerve the car around to but mix it with hot, sexy girls stripping or other and BOOM!! trouser-arouser time - again depending on the type like trad or Louis Armstrong or that type - again nothing too harsh. I must admit I get aroused by a muted or wah-wah trumpet/trombone mixed with a striptease etc.

Back in the late 70s I watched a jazz band perform their set at the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, PA. For 45 minutes I thought they were just warming up... then they left the stage. I considered passing the hat to buy them a metronome.

I like jazz and going to jazz clubs, etc but like anything there are some forms and artists that I don't like or find too boring

I've got a pretty extensive jazz-laden 'late-night' playlist which seems to go down well with the lady-folk as well

Comedian & impressionist Phil Cool once did a spot-on impression of George Melly(who used to sing with John Chilton's Feetwarmers jazz band) and summed it up perfectly when he sang about jazz "going on, on and on and on and on..."

I've been a big fan of jazz since the '70s, when WRVR (the best jazz station ever) was my lifeline to the world. I like the Cool Jazz era - Jimmy Smith, Kenny Burrell, Jack McDuff.
