(bull)Shit or Shinola? Put a bucket of each in front of me and I couldn't tell you which is which. My ass and a hole in the ground yes, but not a chance with shit & Shinola.

As George Carlin said: I wonder what the people from Shinola thought about that saying?

One of the good things about having a small dog is like in the third picture above it can tell you that she's not wearing any panties, go for it.

From the condition of Buffalo today it's tough to tell if this did or did not happen:

The newspaper frontpage I found at an old civil defence stuff site. It was pre-made and actually meant to be used in case of a real nuclear attack. There was also a front page for Syracuse, NY that they had but I don't think I saved it.

Hey great news the formerly near bankrupt Lloyd`s banking group has made a profit of 2.2 billion

Which means us tax payers will naturally get a forty percent cut of that profit , you know given we own 40% of the banking group

Right , right

Yeah right

BSkyB takeover deal gets go ahead , because it`s good for the public and will help improve choice and the impartiality of news coverage

Naturally it was run past the competition commission first

Yeah right

If only us poor plebeian subjects of Europe were allowed to behave in a similar disingenuous bare faced bullshit manner it wouldn`t be so bad , but we`re not.

In fact unlike clan Murdoch we actually have to pay f#cking tax for a start

Impartiality? Murdoch?!!!

I'm usually jealous of my British Brothers, because you guys still get actual news. In the US, news is delivered through a partisan prism. Giving Murdoch a monopoly on news is not a good thing. Just use our current mess as an example of what not to do:

Over 50% of registered Republican voters think President Obama was born in Kenya.

The same 50% think that taxpayers contribute to public worker pension plans.

Isn't the news supposed to cut through the BS, instead of perpetuating it?

Murdoch his "newspapers" are a joke. I read that pubs in the UK and Ireland will be allowed to show soccer on TV from other countries. SKY won't hold the golden ticket. I'm sure the Murdoch's won't be eating mince for tea no matter what Sorry they don't have "tea" they have servants and chefs.

I was going to post this item in the "Things Noticeable This Week" thread, but then I remembered the title of THIS thread and it all clicked!

Headline, excerpt, and link from the 03/03/2011 edition of Air Force Times:

Capitol ceremony for WWI vet blocked
West Virginia’s two Democratic senators blamed House Speaker John Boehner on Thursday after their hopes of having the remains of World War I veteran Frank Buckles honored in the Capitol Rotunda were dashed, at least for now.

Sens. Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin III both released statements saying the Ohio Republican had blocked the Capitol honor.

Buckles died Sunday on his farm in Charles Town, W.Va., at the age of 110. He had been the last surviving American veteran of World War I.

President Barack Obama has ordered that flags on U.S. government buildings fly at half staff on the day Buckles is buried.

http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/20...locked-030311/

Well, that's a shame. I guess it's too bad Mr. Buckles wasn't a billionaire (or at least a multi-millionaire) instead of just some guy who went to great lengths to voluntarily enlist and serve overseas in this country's Army during a time of war -- and was the last survivor of that long ago and terrible war. Perhaps if he had been extremely rich, Speaker Boehner could have related to him and might have felt he was worthy of admiration and such an honor.

An Afterthought:
With several of the previous posts being about Rupert Murdoch, the thought crossed my mind of how different things would probably be if Nancy Pelosi was still the Speaker of the House and she had blocked the request for the Capitol Rotunda honor for Mr. Buckles.

Gee, do ya think the Faux News crews might come up with anything negative to say about the situation then????
