Could be she was dieting during the movie, and the publicity stills were shot afterwards when she put a bit of weight back on, making her tits bigger. She looks a bit curvier (and better) overall in the images on the left.

Overall I think it's quite funny to talk about "big" boobs when it comes to Carrie Fisher - she was minute of stature, as in very tiny, standing 5ft0.5in. "tall" - so both her boobs would fit in one of my palms (I'm 6ft3in) without problems, so big is not exactly the right word imo.

- She was nicely proportioned for her size, but her boobs wasn't big.

It's not tape, it's strapping, across the whole chest area, Judy Garland famously had her chest strapped down in order to play Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz"
