Probably only 2000 dollars rather than 40000 dollars per head will actually reach the homeless people. This will cover their basic shelter in a dormitory, a few free blankets and some basic meals, like oatmeal porridge and beans and hotdogs type suppers at night. Which means they'll still be panhandling you for booze money. Quote:

Never understood why folks always leave out the word "in"...makes it sound like they took a dump and their pants came out. They literally crapped their pants.
Kinda like l'm treated around the world on a routine basis. |

California with 12% of the population in the US now has 25% of the homeless in the nation. The more money California spends on the homeless, the more homeless show up in California. It is the same as feeding feral cats. |

Well, at least the US is not yet a bottom feeder country that survives on loans from other countries. The thought that a country - say like Greece - can show California how to run it's economy, how to have a work ethic or where to spend public resources seems - at best - unrealistic. Germany could probably give us some lessons in some of those areas.
As to my education, I have several post-baccalaureate degrees. Also, I admit to a lack of tact. We just apparently come from different cultures and thus have different ideas. California is wealthy because of the global economy, the citizens who choose to live a productive life in it and by being part of the US. It is dragged down - at least in part - by those who do not live a productive life in it. Its been years since someone on this forum followed me from gun threads to non-gun threads to make anti-NRA comments. Most people who disagree with me are more polite. That particular guy didn't use spellcheck. Your grammar is much better. |

I would also like to comment that far from the rest of the US funding the education of the wealth creators in California, I saw many people from India, South Korea, Taiwan, Israel, etc. come to this state and either create corporations or greatly contribute to existing corporations with their talents. They seem to have mainly foreign educations and/or private university educations. http://www.thehindu.com/news/nationa...le14000053.ece Without the amount of talent from foreigners in Silicon Valley, there would be significantly less wealth generated in California. Which is probably why not many people complain about the visa abuses that go on with foreign employees.

Homeless people are the symbol that in our civilised and rich countries, Capitalism is an unfair masquerade.
