Onwards and downwards
We used to say 'Onwards and Sideways' under the 2 Daves.
Sully claimed to pay Chris Sutton's wages out his own pocket ~ a January Transfer when we played upstairs

Turned out it was paid for by Rolvdale (?) a Sullivan porn sidestream, which got paid back...INSTANTLY.... in the first tranche of the PL disbursements in July.
Sutton went...

Prem status was the be-all and end-all for the 2 Dave's.
Gold - for his FA Badge and nobbing with the mighty..... Sully for status and to sit beside the Queen at a Wembley Final _(she don't go anymore, but don't tell him )

If the Pells is throttled in this window..... he is their next excuse.

I like Pelligrino, but I think he is a lamb amongst wolves, not a brill man-manager with millionaires around him, as he's shown before. Just a "Gentleman" courted by 'cut-purses' and 'jackanapes'....

There you go.... gentle manager > hardened pro's > desperate owners > p11ssed-off supporters.

What a mix !

I have not been near the fan sites if Saturday's was bad, tonight's will be filled with rants by angry supporters.

At least getting knocked out of the cup has kept hundreds of police of the streets for the 5th Round and saved the tax payer a few bob. The goods news from the defeat is the two David's are going to use their winning to help fund the Maxi Gomez move.

Unlucky Birmingham giving Swansea the run around with ten in the second half only to be denied three points deep into injury time.

Old boy George Moncur, never actually played for the first XI, scores the winner for Luton in an apparent cracking game with Portsmouth.

That's all, time for a pint and a mega sulk.

Onwards and downwards

Mid-table on 31 points with 15 games to play should be like heaven once you forget the Bilic aberration which reminds me of Pardews one off at Newcastle where they courted top 4 for a season.

Need i remind you when your team was defensively
- hard to score against - BFS was in charge
and playing a game nobody wanted to watch

This league now has about 12-14 teams of a similar ilk
- somedays they are stars other days also rans

Cup competitions need upsets all through the competition
Lower league teams that go on a run are what make them

At least you didnt lose this badly

The last two games we have been woeful, a few moments against AFC, but in the main the schoolboy defending was not even laughable given the money the ponies are being paid. The Wolves game, where only Fabianski comes out of with any credit, the rest looked like they were waiting for the Costa Brava plane, the only real shock was it took Wolves 66 minutes to score, mainly poor finishing rather than any world class defending.

Even Pellegrini looked shell shocked, probably our worst under him, with Liverpool at the shopping centre on Monday, if we fail to improve and they turn up, our worst home league loss might belong to Liverpool come 10pm.

Thinking on some of the above, ignore the Murdoch-fuelled hype, this might be one of the more interersting but lower quality seasons that there has been for some time.
The outstanding player of the season thus far may be a centre-half, there's now a definite air of anyone could beat anyone else, providing the players can be arsed to turn in a performance...what was that, Jurgen? "Wrong type of snow on pitch"?
Defences look feeble, goalies now judged on whether they are two footed, pundits and commentators are desperately trying to talk teams and performances 'up' but I'm really not convinced about the overall quality.
Teams that are playing better than they did last season:
now I'm happy to have other suggestions but perhaps oddly, MUFC are about the only obvious contender I can think of?. Wolves are easy on the eye, Bournemouth are leading members of the good one week, anonymous the next collection. As ever, the relegation places might be decided by who is slightly less shite than the others and can string three games together without losing come April. Which is pretty much par for the course, anyway.
Still, it's vaguely entertaining.

If Leeds get promoted ~ and I hope they do ~ how is Beislsabub going to spy on Man Utd at Carrington.
He'll have to buy the training DVDs

And at Chelsea his spy could get shot at with an air rifle.....(BB Gun)..... here's hoping

No need to spy on them...they are on TV every week. Anyway there are so many money-grabbing spivs in that outfit I'm sure one or two would spill the beans on injuries, formations etc for a few quid.

Or just promise them a nice picture they could put on Instagram.

"West Ham fear Jack Wilshere's debut season at London Stadium could be over as the 27-year-old former England midfielder struggles to overcome a persistent ankle problem"

Least surprising football news ever?

10/10 for the Daily Mail on a magnificent piece of journalism.

Its never a risk for the two D's as its the best part of a 50/50 split on the insurance pay out and some additional bonus for Lady Muck, if Wilshere never kicks a ball again.
