I remember him having a number one single with Don Estelle(Gunner Lofty Sugden) singing Whispering Grass (don't tell the trees, cos the trees don't need to know) and appearing on Top of the Pops. I also remember him being in a few Carry On films and one or two dire British 'sex' comedies which wasted his talent. Never knew he came from East London(Canning Town) nor that his character name was Battery Sgt-Major Tudor Bryn Williams!

There was a tweet a few days ago claiming Davies was one of three brothers named after royal houses: Windsor, Stuart & Tudor. His daughter debunked that but he did have a cousin named Tudor.

Brandon Truaxe has died. Truaxe was the founder of the skincare brand "Deciem", but was ousted from his company due to erratic online behavior. Some reports he killed himself.

Maxine Brown Russell, inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015 as part of sibling trio The Browns, died in Little Rock, Arkansas, Monday from complications of heart and kidney disease. Russell was 87

Sgt. Victor and Mrs. Edna Barnett.

Victor Barnett - last surviving member of the ground crew that serviced the aircraft of 617 Sqn, RAF (The Dambusters) has passed away at age 101 years.

Sgt Barnett was also involved in the invention and development of the special sight used to gauge the distance of the aircraft from the dam wall, one of the factors used in determining the bomb release point.[For anyone who has seen the film "The Dambusters", the scene in the film where Guy Gibson is supposed to have come up with the idea for the height gauging system whilst watching a show in London is complete fiction, as was the narrative regarding the distance-sighting device. At the time the film was made, the development details of both devices was classified and "artistic license" was employed].

Sgt Barnett died only a few days after his wife Edna (aged 91). The couple met at RAF Scampton where both were based when Edna worked in air traffic control. The couple were laid to rest together today with a full RAF presence.

RIP - and thank for your service.
