Not sure if this was mentioned, but as a host maybe Pixhost is acceptable, but as a viewer, I find it off-putting to have to see a girl getting slapped every time I open their page; and in triplicate.

Just like before you register with any porn forum you get all manner of advertising
which helps to keep the forum alive

None of it can be controlled

Ad / script blockers and image extension blockers will avoid a fair few
though moving gifs are now being used to bypass many of them.

Download managers avoid all of them

If your talking squeamish try searching femdom

Not accurate here. Now, while it's true that blockers and other extension options control/limit types of ad content seen by the user forums/publishers that receive revenue via ad placement have a say in the types of ad messaging packages loaded to their pages. I've worked the programmatic side for a number of years now and can tell you that our shop's clientele are very vigilant when it comes to messaging content that inhabits their rails/headers/in editorial and never hesitate to compel us to make appropriate changes to their packages if they find content within them that they deem offensive/inappropriate or that they believe could cause them engagement/ad rev depletion. M'kay I've had my say and am not interested in pursuing a war of words on this. Thx.

I just went to pixhost with chrome - ad & script blocker turned off

No ads to see unless i scrolled down to the bottom - says it all

Maybe not all browsers are the same
or being one of my own with a gallery option shows up differently



If anyone thinks uploaders are changing because a few are squeamish about ads
or any other reasons Good luck with that fantasy.

Hi there!

I have also found some adult adverts distasteful but recognise that, since the service is free for both uploader & downloader, it is a necessary thing.

PixHost is definitely not alone here though.

I just checked some of my images with other hosts & Imagebam also has three adult ads at the bottom, one was even the exact same "slap" image as at PixHost mentioned above.

Even venerable Imagevenue has adult adverts.

Pimpandhost had adult adverts around the image top & bottom plus opens another advertising page when you click to make the image you wanted bigger. That I actually find more annoying & is something that puts me off of using a picture host.

Many other commonly used image hosts will open advert windows like that ubiquitous Live Jasmin pop up.

Worth noting that most image hosts have an Adult or Family Safe tag when uploading. Adult flagged images obviously get adult adverts.

PixHost, Imagevenue & Imagebam had no adult adverts when the image uploaded was marked Family Safe, like with my Emily Mortimer post here.

Understandable that many images posted to VEF are adult themed so that Adult flag is going to be ticked quite often.

Adverts are how the host pays for itself & advertisers for something like Werther's originals probably don't want to be associated with adult images, whereas adult sites probably consider that a plus. Thus we get explicit adverts around our uploads.

As to control of the advert content by the hosting website, I know that they tend to be bought as packages & not ad by ad. Even none adult advert packages can contain dodgy adverts mixed in, much to the annoyance of websites. I imagine that adult advert packages are probably even more prone to iffy content.

As mentioned, to completely avoid you'd need Ad or script blockers, though rogue adverts may still slip through.

My solution, for uploading at least, has been to avoid using the most annoying image hosts with pop ups etc. & just ignore the unavoidable tasteless adverts on the ones I do use.

Ease of use, for me uploading & for the downloaders getting the image, is my main concern when choosing an image host.
