Imagehost Problems, Imagebam, Imagevenue, PimpAndHost, PixHost, ImgBox etc - Page 19

ImageVenue has a chronic issue with "missing" files. I've found that about 0.5% to 2% of files that I upload immediately are missing. I get the link codes but they're invalid, no working thumbnail, don't connect to any picture. This has been true for at least a year. They either haven't been able to find the source of the problem or they're not willing to spend the money to do so. You just have to carefully preview your posts and re-upload a few again.

I'm on dial-up and imagebam keeps timing out. Unlike most other sites the download won't continue from what is cached - it starts from scratch, leaving no way to make any progress

I've tried free downloadhelper, it won't resume. Selecting 'view image' doesn't work, the cached part of the image is not used. Why is that?
I hate imagebam! Is there a workaround to make it resume from partial download?

I have installed the new Firefox extension warp9, which creates a quantum tunnel, a sort of microscopic black hole that warps time and space, that connects me directly to the pictures. This way I time-warp past all the BS and go straight to the pics. This reduces bandwidth and saves time. Just kidding! I just thought a little humor would be interesting since I couldn't add anything technically. Others seem to have said everything I would have said. So all I have to add is humor. Now laugh dammit. :-p

That is terrible news, as I much prefer 'bam to imagevenue. I'm more familiar and it's easy to keep track of your uploaded images.

I sincerly hope that 'bam is not added to the dreaded "Do Not Use" list.

Why is it that the sister forum (P.Suzy) allows many of our prohibited filehosts?

I wonder if this has anything to do with the sudden frequent "Down for maintenance" periods Imagebam has been having the last couple of days.

Censorship sucks. Have you tried surfing through a web-proxy? A proxy is useful when you want to bypass filters. Here is one:

Try http://dumppix.com/index.php and see if you like it. I found that imagevenue was playing up today and only generating code for 1 image when several were uploaded.
