I learned something tonight, sort of If you were traveling in a car doing 50m/hr and I passed you doing 60 m/hr, you'd see me traveling at 10 m/hr ... makes sense.... It don't work the same with light. Speed of light, 186,000 m/sec. If you were traveling at 99% the speed of light, and I passed you at the speed of light, you'd still see me doing 186,000 m/sec... I didn't get it even after the program went on too explain it all in detail Now, Is it just me or would you have an easier time understanding that light theory more than some of the posts on this forum

While observing a slow moving vehicle the light bouncing back to you will be faster than the thing being observed so you will see it as it happens. However, the bounce back will happen slower than the speed of light. You will see a Doppler effect because of the time lag. Now for a bonus question. While driving at the speed of light you turn on your headlights. What do you see? |

I can't do it, but...

Albert Michelson tried to calculate something called the "ether drift" from measurements taken in opposite seasons. The theory was that for half the year the earth is travelling towards the sun and for half the year travelling away from it. If you took measurements in opposite seasons and calculated the difference in light's travel time you would have the answer. The results were not what was expected: The speed of light turned out to be the same in all directions and at all seasons. |

But too answer your question, I'd be seeing my missus yellin' and telling me too slow down Or, $$$$$ signs, If I could travel at that speed, the possibilities business wise are endless there. Or, Whatever is beyond the edge of the universe God Or, LSD Or, Nothing Which brings me too the genius Steven Wright, once again, Whats the speed of dark

Is it just me
Or does Davey look like a half chewed potato that was grown in an allotment filled with utter scum rather than life giving soil , and then got regularly watered with cold piss from a long dead leaper who died from A.I.D`s ?.
I know. Talk about a rhetorical question By the way if whoever did this is a fellow member please get in touch. As i`ll make you a Veteran, yesterday
