Default Bad Guys Lose

Too many times we hear news of bad guys doing something wrong and getting by with it.
Here's a story where the bad guys lose thanks to their own stupidity.
A short but gratifying read.

“Thank you for your selfless acts of heroism and courage,” she added. “Thank you for not allowing this to be the tragic end to our mother’s amazing life. Thank you for staying with her, hugging her, and helping her feel less alone until we could get to her. Thank you for being the kind of young men who thought about another person above yourselves.”

Woman Given Just 3 Days to Live as a Baby Graduates College

That's because when she was born, Harris was given just three days to live.
But the three days passed, and then more days passed, and Harris was eventually
sent home from the hospital with her family. Still, doctors weren't hopeful.
"The doctors told my parents that I wouldn't be able to write, walk read and other
motor skills," Harris, now 25, told InsideEdition.com.
She has a disease that makes her bones especially brittle, meaning they break easily.
Over the years, she's broken her bones dozens of times and undergone multiple surgeries.

I never thought I would say this: Way to go, Texas!

Texas lemonade stand law will let kids enjoy the fruits of their labor
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who raised a glass as he signed the bill
allowing kids to run stands without permits, called it a "common
sense law."
The governor was referring to a 2015 incident in which police in Overton,
Texas, shut down two girls' lemonade stand, according to NBC-affiliate
KPRC. The sisters were reportedly raising money to take their father to
a water park as his Father's Day gift.

Bride's Dad Stops Wedding So Stepdad Can Walk Down The Aisle Too

This one got to me...what a wonderful and generous action.

So when it came time to walk his daughter Brittany down the aisle, Bachman
did something completely unexpected: He stopped the procession, ran to the
front row and grabbed her stepdad Todd Cendrosky in order to share the
honor of walking their daughter down the aisle.

"The bride was in tears and overcome with emotion."
As the photos show, Cendrosky was as well.

"[He] came and grabbed my hand and said: 'You worked as hard as I have.
You'll help us walk our daughter down the aisle,'" Cendrosky recalled. "I got
weak in the knees and lost it. Nothing better in my life, the most impactful
moment in my life."

Bachman admitted he and Cendrosky hadn't always gotten along. But
extending the honor at the wedding just made sense.
"For me to thank him for all the years of helping raise our daughter wouldn't
be enough," the biological dad said. "There is no better way to thank
somebody than to assist me walking her down the aisle."

Boise family builds a neighborhood food pantry for those in need

"Birthdays are a time of giving, and we don't need that much stuff. We don't need the amount
of gifts that we get, so we were trying to find ways to direct the kindness to where it was more needed,"
The family built a Little Free Pantry for their neighborhood with just a $40 budget and using
recycled materials. After picking up an old cabinet, some wood, and paint, the family went to
work . The pantry now stands next to a community garden at 30th and Jordan streets, two blocks
south of State Street in Boise, for anyone in need to use. The family keeps it stocked with canned
food, baby items, and other necessities. Their neighbors also pitch in for supplies whenever they
can.
"Take what you need, leave what you can. It's just giving. Everyone's got their times of need,"

Smile Check out vimeo and search "Veterans on a new mission to save damaged coral reef 9.26.01 AM " , if feel like seeing the (Non controlled by insidious Google) video

Veterans are finding peace and purpose at the bottom of the ocean by helping to protect endangered coral reefs.

Force Blue is an organization that recruits former military members to go on scuba diving missions to plant, nourish, rescue, and preserve coral reefs along the coast of Florida.

Not only does the project help to protect underwater ecosystems, it has also proved to be particularly therapeutic for the veterans, many of whom struggle with PTSD or depression.

Force Blue co-founder Jim Ritterhoff told Geek that he first got the idea for the organization after he and his friend Rudy Reyes went scuba diving in 2015.

Reyes, who had been suffering from depression after serving as a Recon Marine, was delighted to experience the magic of scuba diving – and his excitement helped Ritterhoff to realize just how they could use the experience to help other US veterans.

“We were like, ‘wait a second, we can do some real good for out veteran community and at the same time, we can use our veteran community to help the environment and reach an audience that currently isn’t getting the message,” Ritterhoff told the news outlet.

“[That audience] may not listen to scientists, but they’ll listen to navy seals and they’ll listen to marines because these guys are their heroes.”

Since launching the organization, the Force Blue team has recruited dozens of enthusiastic veteran workers for the mission.

Over the course of the last seven months alone, the team has been treating coral reefs of a particularly dangerous outbreak of stony coral tissue loss disease.

The team successfully concluded their work earlier this month after logging over 1,250 dive hours along an 80-mile stretch of coastline. Collectively, the team applied antibiotics to more than 1,200 corals – and they were pleased to report that they often experienced more than 75% success in stopping or slowing the disease.

“We are grateful to Force Blue for joining our team of partners in the fight against this disease” said Joanna Walczak, Southeast Regional Administrator for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection.

“From day one they have brought everything they have to the table,” she added. “And Force Blue’s … perspective has inspired our response effort and invigorated the mission to preserve Florida’s coral reefs.”
