Hi all,
Hope someone can give ne some advice and guidance. I have many amateur DVD I would like to share with all the members on here. Mainly UK viewers wives ones etc. I have no idea how to get them onto here via another site. Can anyone help at all? I currently use a Chromebook, so assume i will also need an external dvd player as a first step...but what programmes can I use to then add to a sharing site etc. All help/advice gratefully accepted. |

You can use DVD Shrink to rip your DVD's and then upload them to the sharing hosting of your choice. Make sure to not compress when ripping. Here's a link to download the program

Compression algorithms have developed a lot since Mpeg2, the DVD codec. Not compressing is a waste of bandwidth and disk space IMO.
to wannabedogger: what you want is to rip a DVD. You can search this section for DVD ripping or look here: https://www.videohelp.com/software/s...o-mp4-avc-h264 https://www.videohelp.com/dvdbackup

True.
But disk space is super cheap and posting uncompressed DVD's allow people the flexibility to change, edit, upconvert using QTGMC and so much more without losing visual fidelity. I guess it is a matter of choosing between convenience or quality and I sure hope he chooses the latter |

Can you explain what you mean with "another site"? Are the DVDs something you have downloaded or your own already on DVD discs?

Thanks for all the advice. Will get onto this asap.
By another site I meant somewhere I can pop the dvds onto and then others can access to view and download etc. |

Hi everyone. Sorry this is taking me ages. Not too tech savvy as you will have surmised!
So I have now been able to play the DVD's on my Chromebook using a VLC app. BUT how the hell do I then get them from there onto my Chromebook then get to a site so I can share with you all? Any advice. Sorry. i know this is probably basic for most of you but it may as well be Klingon for me! |

You can use ImgBurn too to do what you want... DVD Shrink is fine but just in case you would like a second option.

Thanks for advice. Sadly every time I download them they 'aren't compatible with Chromebook OS' apparently.
Not a clue. |
