If it has been transferred from the tape that goes with that cover
you posted, it will be in DVD files.....VOB format. You will need to
encode the files that are on the DVD you have, with some video editing
program, of which there are many. What you convert it to, should be
any of the more popular video codecs that people use today. Xvid, Mp4,
MKV, MOV, etc etc.

Default Help Converting Video Formats

Dear Contributors,

Big Bob's correct, if its a VHS-to-DVD (commercial DVD) it will be encoded as VOB files (usually 4 in all that are 1GB in size). These file sizes are big, so re-encoding to smaller size formats can take a while, unless you have a fast PC processor and plenty of RAM- even then its a large conversion.

My advice would be to use FreeMake Video Converter, re-encoding DVD (VOB format) to XVID AVI. All PCs and media players play AVI files and XVID. XVID gives good quality playback.

Just install XVID codec on your PC.
Then install FreeMake Video Converter. > Then load DVD files, press convert to AVI and select XVID in the options.

Freemake Video Converter:

XVID Codec :

regards NB

Default How To Upload Vids

Dear jel51, Once you have your video file ready (mp4, avi, wmv) sitting on hard drive, just log on to the net, load your browser of choice and visit one of the many free uploaders (I believe VEF has a preferred list of uploaders somewhere in the HELP section). With the FREE upload sites, your file will remain active for 30 days. Then, the link goes dead (I guess so the upload site saves server hard disk space). My preferred uploader: http://netkups.com/ fast, reliable, no registration required. At the netkups main page, you'll see SELECT FILE instruction, simply press that with your mouse button, and it will open a window to your hard drive. Find your video file (I suggest putting it on your desktop and calling it something useful like: JeuxDeVideo.mp4 so its easy to find). Netkups recognizes your file, asks if you want to upload, press ok. Upload times vary, of course, depending on the speed of your connection. Once complete, netkups gives you a link to the uploaded file (its now on their server). Copy and paste the link into your VEF post, so others can download it. Regards, NB
